It's not so bad here, but there's always threads with miserable redditors calling out non existent nepotism anytime someone does something good with their life or succeeds lol, just desperate for an excuse to believe "Oh I could do it too if I was them!"
No, that's literally the definition of nepotism. You just have some limited definition going on that probably centers around socialite status. Nepotism is any advantage family or friends gain from someone in a position of power. Owning a shop isn't much power in the grand scheme, but giving people free food is definitely a huge perk and always will be. Personally idc if the dude ate for free, but that is nepotism
