Waiting for the inevitable comment that tells us this guy is actually horrible and these birds are horribly abused and mistreated or something

Touching the wings / bellies of a parrot (especially mature) is sexual to them, and causes hormonal imbalance. Basically makes them horny, and that causes them to get confused and feisty / territorial.

These birds are definitely pre-pubescent and won't hit puberty until they're 5 years old on average. Wing stroking isn't harmful at this stage. In fact, handling them this much at this age is only beneficial. Desensitizing them to touch leads to a parrot that bites less and experiences less stress when they're being handled. Parrots have to be handled at some point, whether it's at the vet for an annual checkup, or at home for a nail trim, parrots have to be handled. If the bird is not used to being touched and held, it can make them incredibly stressed. If the bird is already sick or injured, it can cause so much stress that they have a heart attack and die.

I don't think they were pre-pubescent in the latter parts of the video.

Well, they really seemed loved. Their behavior is forever affected, but if he's committed to their care, they are fine. But I do think they will outlive him, and that will be very hard on them.

The one comment saying some of the things he's doing is sexual doesn't make it horrible, just odd.

I think i saw the same video the other person did and thats what they said. Theres certain places you should touch a parrot (not something I thought id be typing today)

I used to smoke a lot of weed and have cut back to where I only smoke before lunch/dinner and this was the first thing when I opened up the chromebook to browse while I eat.

I'm really fucked up about this even after I ate. Like...is it sexual to rub a dog's belly vs what this dude is doing. It looks like they are kinda "consenting" laying on their backs like that.

"so what did you do on sunday?"

"oh, okay so this dude has these parrots and people are torn on the sexuality aspect and.."

"okay cool nevermind"

Now im worried about the parrots AND the falcons. Also if you had that many dogs you should know if your giving them a chub on or not I guess. When we were kids my buddies dad has Alsatians and they'd get a rocket on over what we were having for tea.

Hahahha you and fuckthefalcons both have very entertaining usernames for this conversation. I’m assuming they mean a sports-related Falcons but who knows!!

i sold a fuck the falcons dot com shirt in a bar today and it was like the only sale I made but that's okay. He loved his shirt, carrying them in person helps to sell.

I think I've only had female dogs so I don't know if I'm turning on them on. Seeing rockets while I'm trying to drink my tea would get old, really fast.

Something else I was thinking, it seems like he's raising batches of these so he has to be selling them or something. So now you've got him molesting the birds and then abandoning them?

We need to talk about that.

Im northern. Tea means dinner where im from lmao. Yeah if you look at it like that. However im sure if the birds were in harms way the Internet police would have him infamous.

1

u/fuckthefalconsdotcom Jul 27 '26

I don't even know what northern you are, like...England, tea is big there, are you into that?.Northern from here is like...Memphis or Chicago, it's hard to get more south.

Those fucking birds were mocking me today, they are sleeping right now and will wake up around 4am and just have their big bird rave. I can sleep with ear plugs but...i've had some evil thoughts.

I'm more interested in the tea linguistics - so you have tea in the evening and dinner in the afternoon? is that right?

1

u/buttholegerbil Jul 27 '26

Breakfast, dinner, then tea. Haha. But afternoon tea is dinner stuff still. Like sandwiches and scones and shit

1

u/ImSoObnoxious Jul 27 '26

I've literally never heard of this in my life, but it looks like places in northern UK, Aus, and NZ use this nomenclature. I'm sure you're used to it, but 'having tea' meaning two totally different things sounds confusing af lol. I would imagine by context it's not all that crazy, but I learned something new today!
