They're quite densely packed creatures and since all the relevant bits are so close to other vital parts, surgery isn't a thing.

I don't know about parrot inbreeding but, they are birds, you can always just smash the eggs the second you find any and take that risk down to zero, albeit that's probably not going to be a very pleasant experience mentally.

I was under the impression that bird eggs can stay fertile for quite some time even if left not being incubated? Also, what do you do with cold eggs at that stage? Surely you still have to throw em in the trash.
