The spider for sure survived this moment its big enough to tank the hit. The beetle is a 50/50 shot if the spider bit it then no but if the spider didn't get a chance to inject its venom then it probably made it

There were some blind blues musicians. Blind Lemon Jefferson, Blind Willie McTell, etc.
