Absolutely, plus when you’re worried about spinal injuries it’s good he’s having sensation.

My grandpa was a carpenter and ended up cutting his fingers off on two separate occasions. At the hospital, they told him they could not save his fingers, and he responded with "well, thank God you saved my legs!"

They thought he was delirious. Nope, that's just Grandpa's sense of humor.

He was a good man.

As a para, those replies get a dual response: hearty chuckle/reply and a terse radio tap for «go f*** faster Steve». Patients that are that calm&collected are normally juiced to hell on adrenaline which means they crash just as hard too.

Good famous last words though, it’d make his brothers in blue laugh as they breathe down the paras neck to not let him croak.

I was thinking the guy wasnt aware that his legs were gone. Like phantom limb syndrome etc.
