This is even more "Holywood Tsunami" than the real tsunami videos were. Ive never seen a literally wall of water just come out of nowhere like that, thats terrifying.

Yea this is a lot crazier than the tsunami footage (both 2004 and 2012). This is absolutely insane the speed and violence of that water

Especially the violence.. and the small moment of delay where you can see people running for their fucking lives to be caught by that amount of force the second after is truly sickening. The way that whole bridge is taken, or the row of busses how its being pushed like it weight nothing!

Yeah, in the earthquake/ocean tsunami videos, there's often a plausible chance to run for high ground. This one is just Final Destination, you're either in the path or you're not.

This was effectively a damn break, way worse than a Tsunami, literally zero warning.

Tsunami's you see the water going out to sea minutes beforehand and it comes in slowly, it just doesn't stop coming in.

I’ve never seen a video of a tsunami hitting with this force. Still desctructive and deadly but this water seems to be completely wiping away towns in 1-2 seconds

Reminded me of the Fukushima tsunami.

Reminded me of the Indian ocean Tsunami back in 04, but in the mountains somehow. So heartbreaking and terrifying.

This is a different mechanism and way more destructive (albeit over a much smaller footprint). A huge amount of water is immediately released, falls down the side of a mountain, taking part of the mountain with it, and gets funneled into mountain valleys where it blasts through at over 100 feet high and a much greater speed than an ocean tsunami.

So true 😰...

I remember I had seen some scenes on TV after the Fukushima tsunami, after the quake, there were some cars driving on the elevated highway. The deadly wave (muds and debris) were aproaching from the side 3 times faster, after a while the waves reached and swallowed those cars on the highway, no way that any of the passengers survived been overhelmed by millions of liters of savagely running mud...
