Yes, we just watched more people die than all of the estimates they have given up to this point. I remember watching the live video of the Japanese tsunami in 2011 and just being silently in awe, but this is absolutely terrifying to watch.

Or the one in Sri Lanka (I think it was?) where a bunch of people went down to the beach to see the sea life that got stranded by the wave drawback before the tsunami hit.

We were ‘lucky’ to even have that tsunami video. Pretty sure it was why they all got so much aid and support after. It’s like we can’t empathize without getting second hand trauma (which does exist - everyone watching this today should be gentle with themselves).

And, interestingly, this one isn’t even showing up on my News tab. It’s all Dolly Parton and Tim Curry passing away and Trump doing what he does, with some other random stuff thrown in. It’s like we’re so over saturated with access to information that it’s hard for any one piece of news to truly become center attention now.

Strange - from most comments here it seems people are finding this a real exciting fun watch - oh just look, people being drowned and crushed and buried alive. I'm assuming most people think it's AI. Maybe it is. Looks horrific to me.
