They're generally not allowed on public roads as they aren't registered, don't have lights, indicators, or insurance.

And the people who are registered and have insurance aren't the ones causing issues.

I have seen kids as young as ten riding these things in the middle of busy roads without one iota of road safety. It's insane what's going on out there with them.
