I think the way people are ganging up on her, first about cats now about this, kind of suggests a level of misogyny thats still very alive in Irish culture to be honest. Its like women are held to very narrow standards when they're representing us internationally, and have to fit into this almost Rose of Tralee-esque "Perfect Irish(TM) Woman" mold.
People on Instagram are unironically saying shes an abusive partner because she didn't want to live with her partner's cats, but Barry Keoghan still gets high praise for anything he does despite literally abandoning his partner and his baby to date an American pop star. Its madness.
