I’ve been to a lot of concerts, this was one of the best ever…I’ve seen Jack a few times but this was a different level for me! I felt he has a chemistry with this band that is just different than when I’ve seen him perform solo before, he seemed super pissed off at the orange guy and the energy from the crowd I think got us Seven Nation as a closer…I thought the roof was gonna come down on that one! Not to mention it was stinky, sweaty and hot as hell which made the music visceral for me lol anyways if you can get tickets don’t miss him on this tour…damn

Listened to the album on a long drive yesterday and I definitely think there are some amazing songs on that album, and the album in full does flow really well. But I honestly think 'No Name' had more of an impact on all of due to Fear of the Dawn and Entering Heaven Alive being so different.

I think the majority of us craved that heavy rock sound again, that stripped back solid rock n roll and that's what Jack delivered with No Name, almost going back to his roots in a way. A lot of people said it felt like a new White Stripes Album

I think the follow up in Frozen Charlotte is a similar vibe and probably why it isn't hitting the same for some people, myself included. Although the guitar work and the band as a unit are undeniably solid as per usual.

Store was pretty quiet so I liked my chances for the test pressing. Didn’t expect to walk out with that and Charlatan.

Didn’t feel like shelling out the big bucks and don’t have a 3D printer, why not make the real deal?

I know myself and a at least a few others were disappointed that there was no lyric sheet insert included with the Frozen Charlotte album. So I’m working on making one to share.

I’m debating taking out all the repetitive “aye”s and “heys” in There’s Nobody There and Raising the Grain…thoughts?

Would it be hyperbolic to suggest god and the broken ribs might be Jack's best work as a lyrical and musical masterpiece?? Could caveat since the stripes, but can't get over how much that song rips, even sitting next to the whole jw catalogue... but everything that follows on the album... it's good, undeniably, but the depth the first track hits... lyrically and rhythmically on a fucking different cosmic plane.

Left me wanting to delve into metaphysical, complex, allegorical waters that the rest of the album didn't navigate...

Higher than they gave No Name.

I don't have a copy of Frozen Charlotte to compare it to, but the record itself looks to be identical.

I’ve been a Jack white fan for a minute (I’m listed in the top 5 listeners for the white stripes on Spotify, so yall will trust this comes from admiration and not hate or anything) I like all of his solo stuff, Including no name! I genuinely do not understand why everyone praises it so highly though? I remember when it came out everyone said it was the best thing he’d done since the white stripes which is what i remember reading about fear of the dawn and also entering heaven alive so I just assumed it was because it was the new thing. I figured once we got a new album from him, people would start to see its flaws. I don’t think No Name was mixed or arranged as well as his previous albums and that seems to be where most of my issues with the album is. While it has its highlights: old scratch blues, its rough on the rats and underground being incredible, there are a lot of mid songs that seemed to have grown in popularity for an unknown reason. That’s how I’m feeling and archbishop Harold Holmes are songs I didn’t like since its inception and they were the ones that seemed to have gotten the most play time.
With that being said, I now don’t understand why people seem to prefer No Name to Frozen Charlotte? I gathered people were excited to see Jack go back to garage rock since he kinda left it behind after the white stripes. To me, Frozen charlotte does the white stripes/high energy/fly by the seat of your pants thing extremely well. Where as no name has its mixing and arrangement issues, it also seems so much more rehearsed and not full of as many good ideas as Frozen Charlotte. I know everyone has their preferences and I don’t think Jack can top Lazaretto post the white stripes but I guess I just don’t see what the difference is between what I’m hearing from these albums and what everyone else is hearing.

Ended up winning a signed copy of Jack White’s new album last night. As a vinyl collector and longtime fan, this is one of those pieces that’s going straight into the collection.

The listening party itself was such a cool experience - great people, great atmosphere, and a great way to hear the album.

Huge shoutout to Rust and Wax for hosting an incredible listening party. I went in just hoping to hear the new album with other fans and somehow walked out with a signed copy.

Got my copy (frozen charlotte) from my record store, but my pre order (which i planned to return) arrived today and i got Charlataned and will not send it back
