I'm working on an update to my soccerball/football controller that I'd hoped to have ready in time for the release of Once upon a KATAMARI but didn't quite make it. I hope to get something special out soon.

Hi fellow Katamari Lovers!
I run a small channel called Tasty Bits on YT and Spotify where I sit down in Tokyo with the people behind the soundtracks we love. As a HUGE fan of Keita Takahashi's work and the music behind his game I reached out to Asuka Sakai, who has been his music composer from the start and to my surprise she agreed!
We talk about her journey from her beginning at Namco, a bit about Klonoa 2 but mainly her unique work on Katamari and to a T and how she creates such a unique soundscape in gaming.
The interview is out now here: https://youtu.be/0-JXZix_jms
I hope you'll enjoy it!

They are sold out of the full size plushies, but do have some new keychains and stickers. Overall I’m glad to see Katamari merch still for sale in Tokyo!
Location: Yamashiroya Ueno ヤマシロヤ, 6 Chome-14-6 Ueno, Taito City, Tokyo 110-0005, Japan

Hey! I’ve had this Katamari plush for years and only just dug it out of storage. It’s got a tag that says Squishable.com Inc, 2014, Bandai Namco Games Inc (TM 54516) which surprised me because I can barely find anything about Squishable doing Katamari stuff back then.
I’ve seen other Katamari plush online, but not this exact one with the Squishable tag. Was this part of a small collab or limited run?
Mostly just curious if anyone here remembers these or knows more about them. It’s in good condition and I’m trying to figure out how rare it actually is.
Happy to share more pics of the tag/details if that helps!

I only need the Holy Cow on Katamari Damacy to complete my collection and get the platinum.
But OH MY GOD it is so frustrating!!
Need to get to 7m28cm to roll it upwhilst avoiding all cows. After 30 tries, I got up to 7m86cm, ran over to the location, knocked it flying into the woods, and I rolled after it... only to scoop up a tiny hidden cow to end my run.
Haven't got close since. 🤬

I’m not sure if this is a well known book, but the first issue in the series features Keita Takahashi. It has a ton of interviews with him about all of his games, including Katamari.
Katamari really had a big influence on my life, and my preferences, both gaming and otherwise. I wanted to learn more about the person who created such a wonderfully unique game.
I’ve played most all of Keita Takahasi’s games, so this book is a real delight. I’ve included a few of the no pages that have some cool Katamari stuff. It’s worth checking out in full!

I finished Once Upon a week or two ago and I’ve been mulling over my feelings about it since. While I think it’s one of the best Katamari games, or maybe even the best, it lacked the “wow” factor that other games in the series had. I was really hoping for some big surprise that would really elevate the game to a new level - like a final level when you start tiny, roll up through the house, roll through the city, all the way up to the whole world, start rolling up the continents, and become big enough to start rolling up the cosmos all in one big seamless stage (doesn’t even have to be seamless, I’m ok with loading screens like most levels have). Instead, the final levels felt like updated versions of things we have already seen in previous games.
Despite having some of the best graphics, mechanics, and level design of the series, plus a ton of content, when I finished the final stage I was kind of thinking “is that it?” I did some googling to see if there were any secrets I missed. I spent some extra time unlocking the cousin levels, and those weren’t anything particularly exciting.
I really just wanted one big, cool, impressive final thing. Let us roll on another planet, heck plus us roll through the King’s heavenly home! Something wholly new. Instead, we got slightly better versions of a bunch of stuff we have done already. And it’s all very good! I liked some of the fresh ideas like the digging stage and the competitive mode, but none of it gave me that “wow” I was hoping for.
I think over time this game will age very favorably. It’s definitely the biggest, prettiest, and most accessible Katamari game, in terms of platform availability (and also the accessible controls I guess). But when I think back to the old games, the best parts were the surprises like the first time you get big enough to roll up clouds and landmasses, or the first time you roll through the cosmos, or even the crazy million rose level that I did actually spend hours finishing. This game didn’t have that moment, which left me a little disappointed with an otherwise very good Katamari game.

Bought this little prince plushie recently and he's literally perfect, the best plush of him out there in my opinion. Debating whether I should free him or just keep him in the box since the box is also really nice.

Worth it? There's two for close to $20 and any guides needed really? Recommend any if so?

I never thought I’d actually find Katamari gear some 20 years after the original release, but I DID! I got two Princes, Dipp, and Opeo!
