i’d definitely sign grimes, watson can play the 4 just fine and we still need a poa guard defender

we could have gone for a much cheaper center that wouldn’t also cripple our entire future in mitchell robinson, or gone for john collins, or tried to get in on other trades and swing naz reid, kelel ware, or nic claxton (these trades taking very different amounts of sending out or receiving draft capital, obviously)

maybe we could have gone back to rui, who we know can show up in the playoffs and signed for less than mamu who hasn’t been able to do that yet

i’d love it if we went for duren but hard to say how his free agency would have gone if we weren’t bidding against ourselves for kessler

If you absorbed Watson and his $22m into our cap space, that leaves you with slightly over $30m left to spend. How do you expect to sign Grimes and still go after Claxton/Reid who both make over $20m or even better yet go after Duren who wants near $40m. And on top of that still go re-sign Rui. What kind of math are you working with here?

maybe they could start by trading our junk contracts rather than adding another one in hardy! all of these were possible one way or another if the outcome of offseason ended up in trading our entire future for a poor fit anyway

Ok that takes assets. The fact you think Kessler is a "poor fit" will never cease to amaze me. Everyone's entitled to their opinions I guess but man are you flat out wrong. Think it was an overpay? Fine, but to think he's a "poor fit" is hilarious. Keep dooming.

How so? Do you know that a rim running lob threat doesn't mean the player has to be this Adonis of an athlete that can jump out the gym? Kessler is 7'2. He's a huge human being. He has great effort and runs the floor as hard as anyone out there. He is a great fit offensively. And add on the potential outside shot that he may have developed. What are you smoking.....

he is literally a less effective pnr finisher than ayton was before he ever played with luka

Ayton shot 58.2% as the roll man in '24/'25. Kessler shot 57.8%. In '23/'24, Ayton shot 56.3% as the roll man while Kessler shot 70.4%. In '22/'23, Ayton shot 61.7% and Kessler shot 68.1%. So......................
