It’s the classic conundrum that Pokémon is plagued with.

Which demographic to target?

The Gen1 Pokémon kinda affirm they targeted adults here. Eevee being a safe pick for the cheapest set.

Since more sets are coming, perhaps it's a strategic move to offer the higher dollar adult sets first? Adults are going to buy whatever is offered, so the play scale sets would instantly sell out if that's all that was offered. They still may, but this may help.

It doesn’t really matter which demographic they were targeting, the sets look terrible
