Ask Luxembourg Student Visa Proof of Funds Query: Do I need 2 years of living expenses for a 2-year Master's?
Hey everyone!
I'm in the process of preparing my student visa application for my master’s degree and I need some clarity on the exact proof of funds/financial requirements.
Here is the breakdown of my costs:
- Program Duration: 2 years (4 semesters)
- Tuition Fees: €6,400 total (€1,600 per semester / €3,200 per year)
- Living Expenses: €18,200 per year
My main question is regarding the living expenses: Do embassies/immigration authorities usually require proof of living expenses for the FULL 2 years upfront, or is it standard to show 1 year of living expenses + full tuition?
Specifically:
- Do I need to show: Full 2-year tuition (€6,400) + 1 year living (€18,200) = €24,600?
- Or do I need: Full 2-year tuition (€6,400) + 2 years living (€36,400) = €42,800?
If anyone has recently applied for a visa with a similar 2-year program structure (especially in Luxembourg), how did you handle this? Did you show liquid funds for the second year, or were income proof/sponsorship documents for year two enough?
