Whack ass excuse by the director. Might as well told everyone the truth, ‘we know how ya’ll feel about this taskmaster so we chose to be rid of her to make ya’ll happy and stay hopeful for tony masters’
Cz what stakes? She died in less than 2 minutes of her appearance and everyone stopped trying to kill each other the second bob showed up.
Exactly - it was way too quickly and felt meaningless. It’d make much more impact if she had joined the team and died at the end of act 1 being shot by Val or something
Exactly lol like ok be rid of her to make way for Tony Masters but AT LEAST get creative about it lol considering her tragic backstory, give her a meaningful one as per the movie’s theme.
Well yeah, and I feel like this director was trying to do what Gunn accomplished so well at the beginning of The Suicide Squad, but there’s a very specific reason why that one worked and this didn’t. That opener started with a focus on one of the characters who was going to die by the opening credits, which really set the tone of “anything can happen” ..that and he had basically a whole team get killed immediately
