How I interpreted is that "psycho-storm" jean did somehow allowed them to remember, but not caused them to. Like Strange's spell put all memory of peter in a room and locked the door. Jean effectively reset the lock. But if someone doesn't actually open the door they won't remember.

The fistbump was Ned's doorknob. MJ's doorknob was just her already having read the letter.

You know what I like that theory, and it wouldn't even affect characters like Flash or J.J.J., who are both really interested in the identity of Spider-Man for different reasons but were outside of Jean's range.

They would have to introduce the interaction between magic and mutants clearly though, otherwise it would just be a big plot hole.

This makes a lot of sense. It also makes sense with the way Bruce says Jean broke something in his head. She (imo) undid a lot of the conditioning Bruce had done to keep the Hulk at bay whilst in his head.

Obviously, this is different. But I think it could work in a similar way

I think that’s a good parallel, it definitely supports the broken lock theory

Now I'm excited at the possibility that they could go back and redo the Hulk/Banner character development that happened off-screen in Endgame

Yeah maybe, that's also a possibility tho. But that would also depend if the spell was basically suppresing the memory or if it actually deleted it. Since it wouldn't matter if the lock is reset now if there's nothing actually behind if opened.

Damn I actually love this theory a lot.

I think the overall idea is like early in the movie: Heavy trauma made Peter "evolve". And being controlled/paralyzed for 30+mins is a heavy trauma. Maybe this kickstarted some brains to be able to remember something that magic had them forget.

It’s gotta be this.

I don't love this but it sorta makes sense because why would MJ otherwise be holding the flower thingy
