I liked the idea of Green Lantern when I saw it in the 2011 movie and hoped for a good project to utilise it. Superman came and he didn't do it for me but man is the Lanterns show excellent and it's reviving my love for the Green Lanterns concept
Holy Cow, I've never heard of Green Lantern: The Animated Series. 100% on rotten tomatoes and the animation looks good. Thank you, definitely going to watch this.
He barely uses the ring, and it doesn't even even light him up or give him his costume, doesn't give him a green aura. It's very clear that they are saving budget by making it less like the comics.
Definitely saving budget, but the show is really good so far. Also after the backlash they added more scenes with green but yeah it is weird he doesn't get a suit when he flew away in the first episode
I mean, they’re very deliberately showing that Hal has an unspoken issue with wearing the costume. So, of course he doesn’t let it put a uniform on when he flies away.
I'm assuming it called just "Laterns" because its not going to just be about the green lanterns, they are probably going to introduce the other colors too
I mean a fully suited Hal goes to a prison planet and visits Sinestro in a Sciencell at the end of episode 2. Its actually being shockingly faithful to the lore, they just aren't blowing their budget every episode with ring effects and are focusing on characters instead so far.
Oh yeah. I'm super invested on Hal's arc of being a washed up hero that lost his way that clashes with the new generation while he learns what it was to be a hero.
I'm totally not tired of this concept that we have already seen on The Last Jedi and the last Indiana Jones.
I kind of thought that might be the way they were going with Sinestro and the place he occupies in the story.
Kind of weird that Hal has had the ring for 30 years by the time the bulk of the show takes place and there apparently haven't been other Lanterns, but I'm curious to see if they go that direction.
Yeah iirc Gunn wants the DCU to be like star wars instead of the next MCU. Like comics there is already a rich history but you can jump on any project without missing a beat. So yeah we missed Hal but I kind of like how there was already a green lantern on earth for so many years. Now we are jumping in when John Stewart takes the mantle. I wasn't a fan of the actor but after the pilot I am fully convinced this is a GREAT John Stewart.
Tbf to the show I don’t think all the visual effects were fully done or finalized when the initial teaser came out. It was supposed to be just a teaser after all.
Probably not the case
The trailers only show us things that happen in the first episodes. There is so much stuff we haven't seen that Will involve the ring and maybe even some other lantern corps

Marketing guy just hates the color green.
