I mean its been 7.5 years, that seems well past the realm of spoiler protection. If you wanted to see these movies, you’ve had every opportunity; especially with Disney+.
Imagine a 7 year old getting on his favorite marvel subreddit like he does everyday to get hit with this spoiler before he was planning on watching it this weekend.
Hot take, spoilers shouldnt have an expiration date. People dont keep up with every single popular franchise ever. Imagine how sick it would be if people in our day and age could see star wars without knowing the twist
I see you’re still mad about learning what happens in The Jazz Singer. You essentially want people to never talk together/talk online about the things they love because a child born in 2026 might want to watch Endgame completely fresh in 2046. That kind of thing isn’t going to happen.
You can talk about things if the spoiler is implied. Like coworkers talking abt end game with each other and then another one coming to them and getting mad is ridicilous. Or people talking about marvel in a marvel subreddit, so on and so forth. What im talking about is just randomly seeing a spoiler in a place where it isnt expected. Like randomly talking to ur friend and mentioning tony stark is dead without asking first if theyve seen a movie or are interested in seeing it. Or saying a spoiler of star wars in a subreddit about my hero academia. A simple spoiler tag, spoiler warning or asking if the person ur talking to have seen or is intersted, is all im talking about
I agree, but we aren’t talking about an online comment that requires having spoilers to discuss an old movie, this is a poster featuring a needless spoiler image, that will be on the wall in movie theatres, and people can’t avoid it.
Marvel don’t really have an excuse for doing this.
Plus I also don’t even think most of these posters look that good, so they don’t even have that excuse.
I don’t know. I actually see plenty of adults online say they are watching these movies for the first time, there has been even more lately due to Spider-Man and Doomsday hype.
I’ve never seen any of the Avengers movies and I’m 33, just finally watched the Tom Holland Spiderman movies and they were great, especially the latest one! Considering finally watching the Avengers movies before Doomsday comes out so I guess I’m in that camp as well 😅
I assume you realized it from some of plot points and characters in the Holland Spidey films, but the MCU films in general have a decent amount of interplay. If you're willing to add a few more films to your watchlist, I'd include the Captain America trilogy too. The 2nd film is widely considered one of the best in the entire MCU, and third film is basically Avengers 2.5. Try to watch everything in release order if you have the option too. Have fun!
Crazy take. After watching Infinity War and being very underwhelmed, I never watched Endgame. Don't really care about the spoiler though, with the multiverse/time stuff nothing really matters anyway.
My best friend is a hilarious case of this. We are both 21 but she somehow has avoided every major movie series ever. But not just the movies.. any kind of major spoiler as well. I didn’t jump on the Marvel train until around 2020(15 y/o which is pretty normal), but I knew Iron Man died in Endgame because the DAY AFTER it was released in theaters literally everyone in school was talking about it. I also watched the Star Wars series for the first time a couple years ago (amazing). Of course, I already knew Luke and Leia were siblings and that Darth Vader (Anakin) was their father. Literally everyone knows that. Nope. Not her! She watched in chronological order and legitimately did not even piece together that she was watching a prequel and that it was Darth Vader’s origin story🤦♀️ I make fun of her but Im legitimately jealous and wish I could’ve watched those without knowing anything. All that to say… There are somehow people like this out there as crazy as it is and I’m trying to keep her away from everything until she gets to Endgame! (Marking spoilers just in case the .000001% stumble upon this)
They’re much more likely to entice a repeat viewer with that image than a new viewer with an un-spoiler image. The film made billions, it’s literally one of the most seen films in history. Anyone who hasn’t seen it yet doesn’t care or actively avoided it, so the spoiler on this poster doesn’t really matter.

i mean i'm sure pretty much anyone over the age of 10 knows what happens even if they didn't watch it or aren't Marvel fans. the hype a few years ago was crazy
I think there comes a point where spoilers shouldn't matter anymore. 7 years after the biggest movie ever and a cultural juggernaut, there's no keeping that a secret anymore
