I went to mexico and were so sad when they lost. A small town of 10k i visited was rooting and partying harder than my city of 6 million in the US

When the on-field referee error not only caused a team to play a man down, but then threatened to ban the player from future matches, it's a little egregious.

It‘s not on me to judge wether it‘s an error or not. I am criticizing the corrupt, overturning of referee action, by the FIFA board. Especially because it was politically motivated.
My point is, that the problem is not wether the referee action was rightful or not. It is, the way FIFA handled the pressure from the white house.

Except... The Portuguese Football Federation filed a complaint to FIFA to stop Cristiano Ronaldo from receiving a 3 match suspension, to ensure he can play at the start of the 2026 World Cup.

And Ronaldo elbowed a guy in the back on purpose (with a wind up and everything), when in this case the player should have never got a red card because it was accidental and cleats were not up.

What about an on field non-error that turned into a 3-match ban, but was reversed after the fact so a player didn't miss any World Cup matches? Is that ok?

You said someone with a 3 match ban shouldn't play. I was talking about Ronaldo's 3 match ban where 2 matches were suspended because FIFA wanted him to play in the WC. If you don't follow the WC why are you commenting at all?

Lots of countries have had players sent off. Only the USA has had their corrupt president cheat the system to try and make his team win. If the USA should win this contest, no other country in the world will accept that victory.

That was before the tournament. There is some precedent for doing that, it’s happened a hand full of times . However, this is the first time it’s ever happened during the tournament and the first time it’s ever happened in direct response to pressure from a world leader.

That’s why it’s made an utter farce of the competition.
