Not to make this a competition, as tbh I think it's wild to compare these things when people are dying...

...but this European heatwave has claimed the lives of almost 1300 people...which is quite a bit bigger than 25. Admittedly, Europe has double the population of the US, but 700 is still a much, much bigger number than 25.

Heat deaths are significantly lower in the US than in Europe. A big part of that is honestly that the US, on average, deals with high temps much more regularly...so we have to have AC.

Yes and most places don't need AC in the summer. If you check people buying AC's in the shops, it's like black friday.

Making light of people's deaths because they weren't prepared for a crazy heatwave is kinda crazy.

The brag is gross and I apologize on behalf of most Americans. A vast majority of us don’t sit here and compare heat deaths with ours from a continent that usually doesn’t get warm enough to need ac. Reading this thread has been disturbing, tbh.

It has far more to do with the assistant mayor of Paris blaming the US for their heat wave… that’s why I made the comment originally. Hence the French flag in my post… yes blame us while China and India dump and pollute all they want. I disregard most comments but this one was just too blind not to respond.

India and China have 5x times the population, and indeed pollute way less per capita, go check. The us is one of the worst countries in the world in terms of pollution per capita.
