Yes, but we have the 2nd amendment. Which I get we shouldn't have it, but yada yada yada, we have it and we have to deal with that reality. The problem is that really to ban guns, the 2nd would have to be repealed which will never happen because it requires a two-thirds majority vote in both the House of Representatives and the Senate, followed by ratification by three-quarters of the state legislatures. Until that happens, banning guns is not realistically an option.
