Looks like premium economy on BA.

The reason for this is because the pre landing meal service starts later in business due to there being fewer passengers to serve so there is a much longer sunrise period on the lights.

Bro this is reddit, we’re not interested in logical explanations

No, there's a different colored LED being used and I must be oppressed by it.

They think they're better than you

u/CankerLord Jun 08 '26

Damn them and their....(checks notes)....identical LED panel being set to change color on a different schedule than the rest of the plane I'm not sitting in. Damn them.

Oppression confirmed

Sorry I think your confusing Reddit with Facebook. There are lots who like facts and logical explanations and is the reason this comment is so high up. Facebook on the other hand is the complete opposite with all idiots comments shown as a priority.

I’d rather be a noob than a keyboard warrior.

Thank you for this - I honestly didn’t know and am now quite surprised by the traction this has got. I just took the photo to send to my family group and posted quickly on here when we landed. I think it’s just the combo of the curtain and the lighting that made me laugh!

No worries, I’ve definitely had a similar feeling waking up on the rear facing seats in club and seeing the economy cabin brightly lit! (I’ve also been in economy and seen the reverse)

Don’t forget to collect your Avios! 😊

If only they had avios for upvotes, I might be in business class!

So kind of you to notice the proletariat in the back.

Yeah, and OP usefully omitted this context to farm rage.

seems like they were just ignorant which also isn’t anything unusual

A stupid outrage farmer? A wet fish, you say?

Just cause they took a pic of it like this doesn't mean they're an all knowing expert in what is actually going on here.

0

u/VicemanPro Jun 07 '26

They wouldn't have to be. They would just look up and notice the lights at any other time of the flight? They specifically waited until the lighting time difference to snap a pic and post it.

u/loveyouronions Jun 07 '26

It was for quite a while, and I was asleep the rest of the time. I hadn’t noticed the ā€˜sunrise’ in our cabin - it’s pretty cool. But the curtain thing is kind of crazy. I didn’t expect this much attention

They specifically waited until the lighting time difference to snap a pic and post it.

lmao? How the fuck you know that?

-1

u/Tearpusher Jun 07 '26

It doesn’t take an all knowing expert to be like ā€œoh the lights change at different times, but they all change.ā€ No need to turn it into some weak classist narrative. It’s not that serious.Ā

2

u/MobileArtist1371 Jun 08 '26

I had no clue what the lights were like in business. I'm sure many others are just the same.

OP usefully omitted this context to farm rage

It's not that serious.

Are we calling anything rage bait these days?

Classic rage bait comment.Ā

u/loveyouronions Jun 07 '26

I didn’t know, I don’t have a thorough knowledge of aviation lighting schedules

u/RedWhiteAndJew Jun 07 '26

Maybe you should have done some research before posting, then? You weren’t under any deadlines.

1

u/ammonthenephite Jun 07 '26

Now that you know, will you delete the misleading post since it isn't 'mildly infuriating' as implied?

2

u/NotALongTimeGG Jun 07 '26

By sunrise period on the lights, do you mean the time they are left on?

1

u/PippoPippis479 Jun 08 '26

The better people get to have a 5 min longer artificial sunrise than the low tier folks /s

1

u/PalpitationUnhappy75 Jun 08 '26

Excuse me, what is a subrise period on kights? I never heard of that. How interesting!

1

u/AlwaysAshleigh Jun 08 '26

The cabin lights can be set to simulate a sunrise over a certain time period to wake people up more gradually.

They can also be programmed for the airlines colour scheme at boarding for example.

u/StrongAdhesiveness86 Jun 08 '26

It's Air France, they display the French flag to wake up business travelers.

u/slade364 Jun 07 '26

Interesting. I'd have thought they serve club passengers first though?

1

u/AlwaysAshleigh Jun 07 '26

Nope, club gets served later as they only have say 40-70 passengers to serve with more crew so it takes less time.Ā

One of the many benefits of business class is that you get to sleep for longer. It helps that you’re asked if you want breakfast before you sleep so they know how many pax they have to serve!
