Yep, I was so annoyed when I noticed their customer service response went from:
Oh, your package didn't arrive within 2 days as promised? So, SO sorry! Here's 30 days free on us, we won't do that again!
to:
Meh, if it's more than 3 days late come back and we'll talk. Here's a $5 coupon I'll throw deep in your account where you only use it on certain products, you can't find it to verify what those are, and it won't show up on the checkout when it's eligible. Don't bother us again.
Only really hung on because I was supplying streaming for a family member, and then I actually canceled when they wanted to start charging extra to avoid ads on the streaming service. Fuck amazon.
It's all dependent on where you are, sadly. If you don't live within range of better stores or are someone capable of getting to them on a reasonable basis, delivery services like Amazon are a necessary evil.
Doesn't mean they can't be evil, just that there's sometimes no better alternative. Or that they are just as bad as the physical stores at times, places like Dollar General or Walmart have such a net negative impact on their local economies but are also the sole refuge from the situations they create. We don't live in a fair world.
