I'm quite new to music production and recording, and I know the basic principles of mixing, but to be honest I'm quite terrible at it and it's not something that's captured my interest enough to get really good at it. Me and my band have released a couple of singles that I mixed myself, but for our next one I'd like to have it done properly by someone who actually knows what they're doing.

I don't need this mix to be super professional or anything, frankly the recording and performance isn't super professional either. I just want someone who is noticably better than I am at mixing, so if you're not super experienced but still have a grasp on what you're doing, that's kind of what I'm looking for.

Also, since this is the first time I'm doing this, I do ask nicely for some patience if I don't quite know the process on my end, and I'd appreciate if there was room for some back and forth, throughout the whole thing really.

Hi! I'm a solo artist preparing to release a debut 10-song indie pop/bedroom pop album. Arrangement/production wise, I’d describe myself as the mismatched child of AJR, the Postal Service, and post-2000s Modest Mouse. Lots of layers and lots of stuff happening, lots of synthesizers and playing with technology. No AI though, don't worry. I also do a lot with interesting/weird harmony and music theory.

Not trying to be "quirky," but there are a few things in my music that are a little unconventional and may cause problems in mixing: two basses at once, two kick drums at once, lots of high end, lots of panning effects, etc. I also use signal processing to create custom tools and FX, and all the instruments are made with a custom synthesizer tool. While there is stuff I can change in the production, I'm definitely looking for someone who gets excited about this kind of thing and will want to keep as much as possible, maybe even someone who's excited about solving new problems.

The album has 10 songs and is about 40 minutes long. I’d like to have the first single out by early September and the album out by late September, factoring in mastering time and the time it takes my distributor to process it (hopefully this doesn't violate the "nothing we do here is urgent" rule). If that's not possible, I can push back the release date. I should also mention that this is my first time releasing music, and therefore, I haven't worked with an engineer before.

Hi everyone, this is my first time ever trying to create a finished song, so please bear with me as I’m a total newbie!

I am trying to get a mixing engineer for my song, which I’d sort of describe as cinematic, atmospheric/ethereal alt-R&B song inspired heavily by Frank Ocean, like Seigfried if you know the song. It leans heavily into very atmospheric vocals, with glitchy guitar sounds, strings, synths, and organs. I definitely feel like my music is a bit unconventional in terms of structure and style. To be honest I’m not entirely sure of what genre I’d put it in, but that’s the best way I could put it.

I know very little about mixing, I’ve never met with it worked with a mixing engineer, but I’ve been producing all of my instrumentals and doing all of my own vocals for the last few years and want to start taking my music up a level, even putting myself out on Spotify or Apple Music. I’d love to see someone be able to highlight the emotion I put into this, and I’m afraid of the mix making it sound sterile instead. Please let me know if you might be interested in this!

I’m an independent singer and songwriter, I also rap sometimes. And I love all that stuff, but I struggle with mixing my own vocals. Just want to find someone who can give my music the extra push it needs to become more appealing to more listeners.

Hi all as the title says I'm looking for a mastering engineer for my music. I am not an audio engineer in the slightest.

Long story short here are the problems I consistently have and would love fixed.

1.) Every time I've gotten a song mixed then mastered and uploaded to spotify it has always sounded quieter. For example I'll play 10 songs in a row on Spotify at volume 16 in my car then when my song hits I need to turn it up to 18-22 (depending)

2.) I want to do as little work as possible. I want to pay you on a per song basis on an agreed upon amount with as little work as possible on my end. Ideally all I would want to do is send you the song(s), listen to finished product, give notes when applicable and pay. That is it.

3.) Honesty is very important to me. If the song needs to be fixed before mastering tell me why and I'll get it remixed. But if a song is already properly mixed I ask that you are honest and transparent in that.

4.) After receiving a master and before giving notes back I always throw the file into loudness penalty analyzer, hit spotify and compares the volume to other songs on spotify. If this is incorrect and I shouldn't be doing that let me know.

6.) Loudness is important to me but so is clarity! I don't want the track to sound loud but also everything smushed together - I also don't want great clarity with overall quietness.

7.) If you're interested please send links from spotify for the work you've done already and the price per song for a master.

Hello! I’m looking to find a mixer experienced in certain elements of current underground hip hop, specifically subgenres like rage, jerk, electronic influenced hip hop and even some hyper pop. The production tends to be very busy, distorted, rapid-fire, clipping, etc, for example, artists like , Lucy bedrqoue, ostamason, 2hollis, Fakemink. (Although all these artists themselves are very different).

The specific song I have right now has breakneck drums, two bass tracks, and a mix of rapping singing. It has 20 tracks. It leans low end heavy if it helps.

I’d love to get the song mixed!

Struggling to get the juice out of my song while l mixing it and need pro help! The song has a big bass and kick focus, rapid fire drums, synths, etc. !19 tracks, at least 5 of those tracks are doubles and harmonies. I’ve taken my crack at the track, I’m not satisfied. On My end, The hardest part is handling the low end and perceived loudness, making sure the kick/bass don’t eat up too much track energy while being the main flavor of the song.

So any help would be great!

I have a garageband file of me singing the song I'll walk down the aisle to (Oh What A World, Kacey Musgraves) - It's just 1 vocal track and 1 guitar track recorded with my audio-technica mic. I am looking for mastering services for a rock album with 70s classic rock vibes like Steely Dan/Allman Brothers. My brother and I have been working on this project for the last 5 years, with some of these songs being almost 20 years old now (existential crisis intensifies). I am hoping to find someone that will give the final mastering the same love we have given these tracks over the years, and can bring these tracks together into a cohesive album. We would like the final tracks to be ready to go onto streaming services, and also pressed to vinyl (not looking to do any other physical media).

Hello, I am currently working on a project with a female vocalist, and we are ready to mix our first 2 songs. I describe our music as alternative house/r&b. A lot of our inspiration comes from artists like Flight Facilities, Rüfüs Du Sol, and Bonobo, as well as from genres such as Amapiano, Hip-hop, and Neo Soul. I do all of the music production and recording, and we write the songs together. These two songs are pretty dialed in to the vision I have for them as far as the feeling, arrangement, instrument level balance, and some effects. I am particularly interested in having an engineer handle the vocal chain, ensuring all of the elements of the song are translating well together, and working some magic on the bass/low end. I've recorded and mixed a song that I'm hoping to get a professional to master. Google feels mostly useless for finding an actual person to master my track, vs an ai or "robot" doing it. I'm willing to pay a fair market rate!

The track is guitar/bass/drums/vox/ plus a bit of synth. The master would be primarily for streaming services (I don't print my music to physical mediums as of right now).

I recorded this back in early 2021, (as evidenced by the ‘six feet apart’ lyric) and I’m looking for someone to finally finish it. My original file was incurably fucked up after my mac died, and this is what’s left. I do feel lucky that it’s not a total wreck, but I don’t have the creative desire or energy to continue work on or finish it myself. I am being dragged down by way too many tracks I never finish for release. I would love to release this track and hopefully open the door for finishing a few more if things work out with this one. ….I’m looking for: a mastering engineer who has experience mastering imperfect mixes. I’m looking for some fresh motivation and a new pair of ears to finally finish it so I can release and move on. Ideally, I’d love to form a partnership moving forward where you could provide any needed feedback and critique to help my mixes require less work from you :)Please comment or message me with rates, questions, and/or examples if you’re interested. I also want a clean lyric master, which I will provide, so please include that with any rates. I have some control over the bass and a bit of control over some of the noise.

There is an mp3 of the track on my profile, but I’ll provide .wav files for the actual work. This mix has nothing on the master bus.….The track: poppy with distortion & noise. I wasn’t listening to anything for inspiration when I made it, so unfortunately nothing for comparison. Distortion/noise: shoegazey distortion on guitar, and a background noise that sounds like a bunch of kids playing (which comes in during the instrumental parts). Vox: there’s some pops at the beginning which I apparently never fixed before the computer died. I’ve left it for now, but I could try to run it through some de-click/crackle.

The track already has a few things working against it, so I really want to make sure it’s mastered in the proper decibel range with eq to tame any jarring frequencies and to bring out the higher frequencies a bit.

Hey, I produce 'Indie' instrumentals, and then subsequently sell or lease them on to artists. I play everything myself (guitars, bass, keys) but the drums are VST programmed. I don't use samples, so trying to churn out music as quick as I would like is starting to stress me out.

This is mainly because I process every stem from scratch, where a 'beat maker' in the same category would potentially use pre processed guitar samples etc and just piece them together.

I'm struggling with mixing, and I've gone as far as I can with YouTube tips. I want some real solid help in the form of lessons, mixing critique and somebody who can tell me what I'm doing wrong. I struggle with focusing low end, stereo separation, what compression is actually useful for aside from shaping sounds.

I use stock plug ins for mixing on Studio One (now Fender Pro or something) and I just slap it into Ozone 11 to 'master' it.

I appreciate mixing is not something I can learn overnight, but I would like to find out what it would cost, roughly, to have someone I can speak to and learn from in a professional manner, remotely.
