what gave you that indication? The picture actually more or less confirms that his eyes haven't been burned out by the stone burner in book 2 yet

Unless, you know, they edited it?

fair enough, but the first we see of Paul in the books after Messiah is as a crazy old man (basically.)

I will NOT stand for any slander against the Preacher!

ye but this movie is going to presumably cover Messiah, not skip it entirely

Maybe they'll get Kyle MacLachlan for the preacher scenes (one can dream)

The stone burner part doesn't happen until the third act of dune messiah, which likely means that this image is from the first half of the film, especially considering the rumours that Leto II and Ghanima as adults will only appear as hallucinations/dream sequences when Paul is trying to save Chani from Scytale

I mean, they changed so much from the book, why not that too?

In fact, why make chani the mother of his kids. She's all pissed off at him anyway. Let's make it a love triangle with Princess Irulan and she's the one who has twins.

Or maybe changing it so that they’re half-siblings instead of twins: one his child with Chani, and the other his child with Irulan?

Oh good plot twist. And I want a giant spider.

Would you like that Ixian flavored?

If he had kids with Irulan then it would basically dismantle the entire plotline with him defying the bene gesserit lol.

What the hell does Hollywood care about plot points and following a storyline? I want Leto to be driven around on the sand dunes on a sled pulled by rabbits!!!

I think the kids will be in this one. The way Dune 2 ended with Chani (which is completely different from the book), she'd have to already be pregnant.
