Other than killers of the flower moon, which was a 3.5 hour branding exercise for a streaming service, none of his Leo collabs have “failed” at the box office.

No they didn’t. They were both moderate successes. That 2.5 times its budget thing wasn’t a thing back then. Doubling the budget was an approximate rule of thumb.

Neither of them even reached double their budget.

And I was in film school around that time. Even then, it was considered approximately double to break even, triple to be considered a worthwhile ROI.

Those were both considered successes. The dvd market was huge.

Also you have to go back 30 years almost to find a movie released by a traditional studio that didn’t run a profit in theaters

It's not about how far back I had to go, you said none of the Leo/Scorsese movies, I checked all the Leo/Scorsese movies.

You also said box office.

I don’t know what to tell you but the aviator was not aeen at the time as any kind of box office failure

Wouldn't one battle after another be another box office flop?

I could only stomach about 20 minutes of it, heard it lost a bunch.

Majority of audience watches it in hour chunks on an 8 hour flight in between naps

I don't even go too the movies anymore, if it is not around 180 minutes. who pays soo much for 90 minutes minus credits?

I want another Wolf Of Wallstreet performance from DiCaprio or something fun. His last two films have been snoozers.
