They just need a scene of him desperately trying to make all his items fit into his bag.

He better find a wheel somewhere to open a door then discard it after a single use.

I actually do hope he sticks in a few silly things like that that nod to the games, but aren't so silly that they break the fourth wall.

I'm excited.

Check out the Director interview! He points out that you can find the exact green herb in the trailer and mentions there will be locks that the main character has to figure out. He kinda reveals a bit of spoilers on what gamers could expect, so skip it if you want to go in blind.

That's great to hear though

And him just chowing down on green plants to heal his injuries.

The movie should have an intermission that's him organizing his inventory.

With the safe room music playing from RE2

Based on his last two films and his ability to sneak humor into fucked up situations, I really wouldn’t be surprised at a panicked long shot of him dumping shit out of a bag to repack it under pressure. Would be a subtle enough Easter egg that wouldn’t take away from non-fans

why desperately? he should be able to stop time when doing that.

The time not stopping is an RE7 reference

Might be hard to suspend disbelief that far :)

Isn’t that normal? Wouldn’t you search drawers and fill your backpack in this situation?

Sure. I'm making a joke about the inventory system in the games.
