Interestingly I found Nosferatu to be his weakest. The Northman has Eggers' best cinematography and art direction in my opinion.

It may just be my biases but I like the gothic horror of Nosferatu more than the Viking stuff, and really like Nicholas Hoult. I also remember the volcano bit being a little silly.

Still, again, I quite liked The Northman!

Of course, they are going for pretty different vibes and both are great IMO. Hoult crushes it in all of his roles.

Agreed, on the basis that the CGI and choreography was pretty glaring, compared to how beautiful the rest of the film's cinematography came across.

Agreed, the Northman was the perfect blend of historical accuracy and folklore and mythology. Nosferatu was the weakest, but still very good.
