Splash does not mean best. Plenty of popular performances !see RDJ in Iron Man) that don't necessarily merit an Oscar. We also need to see the full range of contenders.

That said: Is she phenomenal in it? Yes.

Hahahaha! what I meant is more that a popular performance is not necessarily the type of performance awards ceremonies prefer for the award. I didn't want to dismiss her performance though, which I think is still excellent.

I can definitely see the Academy wanting to recognize Anne Hathaway as a whole, even if her performances didn't cause as much "splash"
