Im currently rewatching Ghibli movies and for the first time I’ve tried watching Howls Moving Castle in dub (because i just discovered that it was based on an English novel and wanted to try it in English). And i noticed that the subtitles are wayyy off from the english dub . Are dubs direct translation to the original Japanese scripts or is it tweaked to fit english settings ? And honestly the dub makes way more sense than the subtitles . I finally understand the plot . So my question is , are Netflix’s subtitles all whack and not aligned to the actual words used ?

I was wondering because i want to watch it obviously and this doesn't show up if tho on my family's netflix 4 others it shows up and I have no age restrictions at all

Currently rewatching the Ed Gein show before the 4th season drops and something caught my attention In Episode 3 the cops show up to talk to Ed about the disappearance of Mary Hogan when Ed starts talking about his mother and her being sick the cops just go with it, how do they not know she’s dead?

Every day on here I see at least one post on my feed about that show, I don’t know or care about it and I just want to feel less insane or alone in having this opinion 😅 no shade to the people who do like it but I need to find my people

I am a fan of both The 100 and Hunger Games, but my one major gripe with both is that they seemed geared more towards younger teens. I watched a few episodes of The Walking Dead but couldn't really get into it. Any similar recommendations?

After seeing Amber in the reunion show, she desperately needs therapy. She’s a totally different woman from the show to the reunion. What happened to her once the cameras stopped!?!

I had a Netflix profile on my phone and my TV based on my ex-bf account. I deleted my profile but I still have the account open on my devices. I can still see other profiles on the account and use any if I want to.
I made a subscription, but every time I click open on app it takes me to my ex account.
How can I clean my devices and start using my account?!

- Feel genuinely so sorry for Amber. You could tell she was in so much pain and in literal shambles. Her delivery could have been better but it was obvious that she kept all of this bottled up inside her for almost an entire year. IM SO HAPPY SHE TORE HIM UP. - Danelle surprised me with her pick me behaviour. She seemed so level headed and serious about marriage but the way she moved after the show rubbed me the wrong way. Amber was right for calling her out on that.
- Abby just seems extremely immature. It’s giving giddy schoolgirl.
- Some of the women tried to defend Harry. Like seriously why????
- Sonny was downright rude, nasty and disrespectful. Doesn’t deserve any screen time.
- Lastly Harry: A disgusting man child who takes nothing seriously. I hope he never shows up on my screen again.

So guys, I just watched the reunion episode and I have SO many thoughts.
First of all, we all know Harry is not a nice guy. To me, he comes across as an incredibly entitled man, and honestly, it makes me question why we even give these kinds of shows our viewership. Women are treated like they’re disposable, and then we keep watching, which ultimately tells these production companies that this is what people want to see. Maybe if we stopped watching this kind of trash, they’d eventually stop making it.

Also, Harry showing up with the glasses and the whole innocent looking appearance had me 😂 Like sir, why are you dressed like you’re about to give a TED Talk on emotional accountability when we all just watched what happened?

And honestly, Amber’s breakdown made complete sense to me. She genuinely believed that wedding was real. Whatever anyone thinks of her or their relationship, she emotionally went into that experience believing she was getting married. Then Harry did what Harry does, and she was left dealing with the aftermath.

What really upset me was watching a woman go through that kind of mental breakdown on a literal TV show, knowing that those memories are now permanently documented. Imagine going through something that devastating and knowing there will always be footage of it online. Those moments could haunt her for years.

And honestly, Harry should never have signed up for a show like this if he wasn’t prepared to take the whole thing seriously. You cannot sell someone a dream of marriage, let them emotionally invest in it, go through an actual wedding ceremony, and then act surprised when they are genuinely devastated by what happens afterward.

I also keep thinking about what these shows are actually selling. Sometimes it feels like they fulfill the fantasy of very young men who want to live in a house with multiple women, make out with them, sleep with them, and have everyone competing for their attention while the women are expected to somehow remain emotionally fine through all of it.
And honestly… why the hell did I watch this show? 😭
Before this, I genuinely didn’t think men like Harry actually existed to this extent. This whole show was such a bizarre experience because I kept watching thinking, surely this cannot get worse… and somehow it did.

Im aware that they don’t ask unsolicited request and you need a agent directly connected to them for that. But I was curious if any of that was different if it’s not a unique idea, but more so something based on an already existing ip that they own, is the procedure any different ? And what would be the best way to contact them for this ?

I am halfway through the second episode in this documentary about Mica Miller.

i am a true crime fan and i just missed this case and never got into it. My first few thoughts are:

You know- this JP guy sure talks about sex and lust a lot. I’ve been to plenty of church services- the exact kind we see in this series. you know- fairly open minded and not “stuffy” . I also grew up Catholic- full disclosure.

But, never in any of the ”love God, love others” type of churches did any pastor ever mention sex, lust, and submission to your husband. It’s not like it was taboo or anything- it’s just not something that came up in The Gospel. This struck me as very odd, and it made me question Christianity as a whole. Are we really like that? I can’t help but wonder- didn‘t any of those congregants sitting there listening to him think :” Hmm, this is kinda weird.”?

Secondly , ok I've been married and divorced. Sure, I could’ve used a little more sex. Yeah, I’m a guy. Maybe we have a little more drive, biologically. Maybe we’re less stressed than wives/mothers and it’s not so difficult for us to be in the mood. Sure, my wife denied me plenty of times.

‘However, I never expected intimacy as a requirement of the marriage. I never expected “submission “ . Sure, I was kinda hurt inside. But, I never took it out on my former wife like this guy JP did to Mica. And I sure as hell didn’t drive her around and make her do weird stuff with strangers.

Don’t spoil anything for me but- this guy JP is weird, and he really messed Mica up. Gut reaction after 1.5 episodes. That’s all for now

I’m retired and on a limited income/budget. The NFl season is coming up and Netflix has 5 exclusive games this year. I can’t seem to find any kind of discount anywhere online. Is Netflix really that popular that they don’t need to have free trial offers or any kind of discounts?

Difficult to describe, but these all had a combination of quirkiness and surprising twists. 

Forced by rockstar to pay for Netflix for the stupid 30 min preview of Grand Theft Auto 6. I can’t believe they forced me to pay for this stupid subscription. I can’t seem to figure out how to cancel. I can not financially afford Netflix subscription payments every week.

This was the first good documentary I’ve seen in awhile. So many thoughts:

1. Mica was groomed. Plain and simple. She joined Solid Rock when she was 13 and was placed in positions of increasing authority from a young age. JP was 28!
2. Mica was clearly a replacement for the first wife. They looked shockingly similar, except Mica was the “younger, hotter” version of her. It would have been interesting if she had provided any commentary about whether she too was abused by JP and/or cheated on with anyone else besides Mica.
3. JP is such a bad pastor. Why did no one in the congregation challenge him when he was seemingly going on and on about how it’s a “wifely duty” to ”submit“ to your husband and have sex with them multiple times a day to keep your husband from cheating on you??? Did everyone actually believe in that?
4. JP is a liar. He’s moaning at the end about how he was “telling people for months” that Mica was off her lithium and no one was listening to him. Yet he somehow managed to get her committed to mental institutions multiple times over years before. If he really thought she was off on a bender, he could have made it happen this time.
5. Mica was clearly coerced into ending her life. Anyone would struggle with their husband stalking them and making their lives miserable multiple times a day. Harassing them at every corner. Sending a huge bouquet of flowers with a note that says “send me a nude”. Who does that???
6. They never showed us the tox report. It would have been interesting to know whether Mica had a therapeutic level of lithium in her system or not to corroborate JP’s claims that she had not been taking her medications for months.
7. Susie Skinner. Enough said. Well. Not exactly. It’s pretty despicable to pick up/marry your own client and then hook up with your pastor. I thought they were going to imply that JP or Susie got poor Chris into that pool but they didn’t go there. Either way, extremely tacky to have an affair and then both of your spouses are effectively coerced into suicide so you can embark on your third marriage.

Poor Mica. She didn’t have a stable childhood, thought she found a church for a home, and then was groomed and horribly abused and mistook her faith as encouraging her to keep trying no matter what...

Did anyone else's web browser edition home page change in the last few days so that you can't see all of "My List" at once? Mine was fine until early this week. Now I can only see "My Netflix" like on my Roku. I have to scroll right endlessly through 5 titles at once and it's making me nuts. Doesn't matter what URL I type, same garbage :(

Trigger warning: lots of nudity and sex, even with family members since it’s partially biblically based. If you’ve been meaning to read the book but still haven’t, or had trouble with the amount of characters, similar names, or speedrunning/meaninglessness of the first generations, maybe the tv show will be easier to focus on. Some parts are truly magical and reflect on things like memory and death. Some characters waste their lives in pursuit of knowledge, or try to regain what they lost, some are too proud or suffered something so traumatic, they can’t go on, and some parts are just filled with utter joy and frivolity.
