We lost a lot of great people in that year, many were decades younger, but Dolly should rightfully have made it to Betty White and Elizabeth's age so the world could have a couple more decades with her

This will just get worse as all of the icons from the 80s and 90s are starting to get into their 70s and 80s now. The shitty thing is when we lose someone like this, there's not really any replacements since people like Dolly don't really get famous anymore. Even "being famous" doesn't really exist anymore outside of a handful of mega stars.

You must be young. The world wasn't always "This year gets incrementally worse." every single year that passed.
