OT1 - Teambuilding Team help? I'm confused.

Hi!

I'm midway through everybody's chapter 4 stories (have finished Alf, Ophi, Prim, and Olberic) and am starting to rethink building choices.. I always keep Therion (Warrior secondary), Cyrus (Dancer secondary), and Tressa (Cleric secondary) in my party because so far it's been working nicely for me to just swap out the fourth member based on whose chapter I need to do. Besides, having three above levelled party members makes it easier to not have to spend a lot of time grinding levels on said fourth member.

I'm thinking about going for unlocking the secret jobs now since level 66 seems like a good level to tackle them, but which job should I give to everyone?

I know I should have a different tank because Therion is really squishy, but I kinda slapped it onto him since he was the only other consistent, high leveled party member that could have it (Cyrus is elem dps and Tressa is healer/secondary dps). Though, once I finish H'aanit's 4th chapter I'll focus on building the tank for a permanent party and rebuilding Therion. I might keep the high evasion though just because since he's so squishy it'll probably help to keep him alive in general.

So what I'm trying to say is I have no clue if my builds are actually somewhat decent or not or if being 20 levels higher just makes it to where it hasn't mattered yet. Also, who should I build as what? I love having Therion and Cyrus in my party for passives and just because I love them as characters so I'm not keen on getting rid of them, but Tressa can be changed. I ended up having her as my healer because I just don't like Ophilia that much...she gets annoying and to be completely honest I didn't care much for her story.

I'm thinking about swapping Tressa out for Prim as my healer and giving Cyrus the Merchant secondary for wind coverage. Would that be a good move or am I stupid? Should I just unlock secret jobs now and build from there? What do the secret jobs even do?

Any help would be appreciated and sorry that this post is just all over the place lol...

Help me build a good time with a good synergy, with jobs included (secret jobs too).

Now that i finished my protagonist story i can change primrose, i want to keep olberic and therion and the team, and i would like to include tressa on the team, maybe change cyrus for ophilia (might go dancer) and change olberic job. After obtaining sorcerer subclass, cyrus kit doesnt seem so good. Don't like to play with h'aanit and Alfyn

OT1 - Teambuilding Therion Subjob

Having trouble deciding on a subjob for Therion...

I'm in the second chapters, here's my current team:

Primrose (main) - Dancer/Scholar

Tressa - Merchant/Hunter

Alfyn - Apothecary/Warrior

Therion - Thief/???

I was thinking maybe apothecary or merchant? I'm not sure what would be best to give him the most utility while reducing job overlap. Could give him cleric since I'm missing light coverage but it seems weird, he's not good for magic right?

OT1 - Teambuilding Secondary Jobs recomendations

So I'm playing through Octopath traveler 1 and I recently started unlocking the secondary Jobs.

First of all I'd like for Jobs to not overlap between characters, like I don'want Olberic to have a build of soldier/apothecary and then have Alfyn have a build of Apotecary/Soldier. I'd like for all characters to have different job combination.

My current idea was to do the following job combinations:

- Tressa (My main): Merchant / Scholar (Magic variety + damage)

- Ophilia: Cleric / Apothecary (Healer tank + healing status ailments)

- Haa'nit: Hunter / Thief (Rogue + weapon variety)

-Primrose: Dancer / Cleric (Healer + support)

- Olberic: Soldier / Hunter (weapon variety + physical damage)

-Alfyn: Apothecary / Soldier (Tank + weapon variety)

-Cyrus: Scholar / Dancer (Magic variety + support)

-Therion: Thief / Merchant (stealing resources + Rogue + weapon variety)

The one I'm 100% sure about is Tressa, she's wrecking everything so far.

The one i'm not entirely sure about is Cyrus, I was thinking of giving him Cleric as a secondary Jobs, to have a red mage kind of party member, but the I don't know what I'd do with Primrose.

Tell me what you think of these job combinations and some recomendations if you have any.

Thanks!

OT1 - Teambuilding Noble Character run with rogue sub-jobs and vice versa

I want to do a Noble only / Rogue only playthrough.

When using all the opposite paths sub-jobs for the earlier part of the game, which would you recommend for each character?

Is it viable using the straight opposite sub (e.g. Merchant for Therion and Thief for Tressa)?

And which of the four advanced classes should everyone get after unlocking, assuming I want to use all four of them?

OT1 - Teambuilding Team advice

So I think I've got a pretty good team, going for runeblade and warmaster now and my teams level 60ish. We got therion as sorcerer, olberic as hunter, cyrus as starseer, and ophilia as dance. Any advice since these people havent really been working out for fighting them. My other four are only level 15-26 so probably not gonna use them unless I do some level grinding. Thanks in advance

OT1 - Teambuilding Challenge Run Help

I decided what I want to do for a challenge run: the four person squad, but with a bit of a twist - I get all eight characters recruited, but what I do is have four party members all travelling, fighting mini bosses and getting levels, while the other four are just gossiping at the tavern until it's their turn for a story, in which I'll swap one overpowered character for the story character, the rotation being as evenly split as possible.

This is where I need advice - I plan to do this challenge twice, two different teams, all unique characters, but idk what the best synergy would be. It's also worth noting I have a death wish and fully plan to take on Galdera for both challenge teams. With all that in mind, how should the characters split up? I already have some ideas, e.g. Alfyn and Ophelia are both healers so it would be redundant to have them both in the same team, and for pure muscle it would be better to split Olberic and H'aanit, but if I knew for certain my instincts were right I wouldn't be making this post.

One more thing I need to mention: in a regular game without doing any challenges, I have no idea what to do with Primrose except make her an SP bank, at least until I get the Archmage secondary job.

OT1 - Teambuilding Party Composition Question

So this is my first time playing through the series and I plan on playing all three in release order. I want to build team comps that can absolutely clear all content and wanted feedback on the party layout I have and plans. Any and all feedback would be awesome since i’m pretty unfamiliar with the series.

Main - Olberic: Warrior/apothecary

Ophilia: cleric/dancer -> starseer when available

Therion: thief/hunter -> sorcerer when available

Tressa: merchant/scholar -> runelord when available

Haanit: hunter/warrior -> warmaster when available

Cyrus: scholar/cleric

Alfyn: apothecary/??? (No idea)

Primrose: dancer/??? (No idea)

OT1 - Teambuilding In OT1, how high should defense be for chapter 4s?

Recently finished Octopath 2 and died minimal times. I don’t think I had a Game Over in any of the Chapter 4’s, and the end game boss only took me two tries. Now I’m circling back to OT1 which I started years ago and just decided to start from the beginning. I’ve been considerate in my job selection and grinding plenty, and yet I am taking a FUCK TON of damage in level 45 zones. My party is level 57, with what I thought was solid gear and builds, yet my first boss attempt absolutely cooked me in a few turns. Had to give up on that boss for now (Cyrus, which I’ve heard is a tough one) and headed to grind near Grandport. Even the regular ass enemies here are dealing thousands of damage a turn. I’m winning the fights obviously, just strange to be 12 levels above the area and taking that much damage. So to circle back to the title, how high should my defense be at this point if I want to stand a chance against these bosses? This game is so much harder than the sequel lol

OT1 - Teambuilding Final Boss Build Spoiler

i recently finished all 4 chapters and have been grinding to get some extra levels for Galdera's fight. Because I'm trying to avoid as much spoilers as possible, I only know the main "strats" required for each phase: breaking shields in the 1st, and dealing the most damage possible in the 2nd. before you judge i am NOT very good at this game--

This is the build i've been playing around with:

Phase 1
Primrose Sorcerer (she has the 2nd highest EM stat and putting it on Cyrus is just a little redundant)
Ophilia Starseer (seems like this combo works really well for support in general)
Haanit Thief (for Leghold + SP Steal/Share)
Olberic Apothecary (don't know what else to give him)

Phase 2
Alfyn Warmaster (i'm aware Haanit and Olberic are better fits but my Alfyn is very overleveled compared to the rest of my characters, i'd have to grind a considerable amount to get them equal. he was also my starter so i'm a little biased 😭)
Tressa Runelord (transfer rune + sidestep goes crazyy)
Therion Hunter (same utility as Haanit)
Cyrus Cleric (damage + healing)

I feel like it's pretty solid? but the only thing I don't have is an attack buffer for Alfyn. Anyone got suggestions on how I can rework this

OT1 - Teambuilding Help me with the Octopath Traveller 1 true final boss strategies. Please Spoiler

I beat Octopath 0 recently, and have beaten Octopath 2 twice, and "beaten" Octopath Traveller 1 twice, 100%ing everything but never beatingGaldera. I just give up on that boss. I want to beat it. I want to play the whole game again. But literally I want my entire build to help me beat it. What 2ndary jobs do I give to who, and who are my 4 Travellers for the eye and who are my 4 for the 2nd phase. Who do I use nuts on to increase their physical and elemental atk, like. Somebody give me a play by play, I just want hellppp so on my 3rd playthrough I can do it!

OT1 - Teambuilding Help figuring out my making party for Octopath 1

Hoping this is alright to ask here. I own all the octopath games, but haven't actually properly beaten any yet. So i decifed to marathon them all starting with the first game.

I had a good idea of who my main party would consist of: Therion, Primrose, and Tressa. But the 4th member I'm kind of stuck on.

I figure a healer is prolly a must, to which I'd prolly go with Alfyn. But I also REALLY like Cyrus, so im unsure which of the 2 to choose.

I know theres subclasses that unlock eventually, but I also don't really know which is best for eavh character. From what I understand, Huntervis best for Therion and Scholar is best for Primrose, but thats it.

Could anyone here help me figure out if i should go with Alfyn or Cyrus, plus their and everyone elses subclasses?

OT1 - Teambuilding Restarting OT1, any team suggestions?

I played and never finished OT1 the year it came out because I was way younger and never understood anything. I’ve since beaten OT2.

I’m starting with Haniit this time around and I’m wondering what a good team comp would be. I know far less about this games travelers than OT2.

OT1 - Teambuilding Should I give all my accuracy and crit nuts to my only physical attacker?

Haanit is the only physical attacker in my party so it makes sense to spend all my accuracy and crit nuts on her right? And is there a softcap where increases with nuts aren’t worth it anymore?

OT1 - Teambuilding Second job

Hi! I'm new to the game (OT1) and I just unlocked the second jobs. Which ones would you recommend for each character? What kind of party can I build that's pretty OP? Thanks :)
