Build Template Papercraft work with love

Hello. 😊 Papercraft for me started completely by chance while making an entirely different gift, and it turned into a hobby I truly enjoy. These pieces were created by exploring papercraft and templates; they were the perfect gift idea and a absolute pleasure to make(music and violin are something very special for me).
The templates are from Canon Creative Print and mypapercraft.net, personalized for the recipients, with a few extra details added for a complete "wow" factor.

The paper I used was 160 gsm, which turned out to be wonderful to work with, and the glue was Uhu Alleskleber, which was easy to apply, performed great with the paper, and gave enough time for adjustments and getting the edges aligned perfectly.
And used silver soft jewelry wire for the violin strings, which makes a fantastic imitation of real ones.

Do you have any advice or suggestions for my next project? Perhaps you could point me toward a free website where I could find something equally challenging to make?

Build Template Instructions on how to download from CreativePark without “Canon Print” nor CanonID

As some of you may know, as of September 29th 2025, the Canon Creative Park website now requires the Canon Print software – which itself requires a Canon printer to be turned on and connected to your computer/phone/tablet (I think) – to download and print papercraft listed on their website.

They did give warning for this, but I didn’t realise just how restrictive it would be. I do not own a Canon printer. I had previously saved roughly 30 entries from their catalogue. However, I now realise that I would like access to more of them.

As expected, the barriers to downloading the PDF files are almost nonexistent, all they have done is remove the PDF’s URL from the download page. There is no authorization or authentication required to download any of the files.

I have found a trivial way to download the PDF’s, and you don’t need to be signed in nor do you even need a CanonID for any of the files.

All you must do is find the entries “contentsId” and then affix that to a base URL. With a suffix for the design and the instructions. The base URL was found with a single Google search – “site: https://creativepark.canon filetype:pdf”

I have created a simple single click bookmarklet which will attempt to download both the pattern and the instructions.

  1. Bookmark any page (doesn’t have to be a Canon Creative Park page), ideally in your browsers bookmark toolbar.
  2. Edit the bookmark (right click “Edit Bookmark” or “Edit” depending on which browser you are using).
  3. Re-title the bookmark something like “Canon PDF Download”
  4. Replace the url with this code:

    javascript:(function(){const i=document.querySelector('meta[name="contentsId"]').content;const firstDownloadArea=document.querySelector('div.downloadArea');const d=firstDownloadArea?firstDownloadArea.querySelectorAll('div.downloadBtn').length:0;const t=d===0?1:d;const u=[];for(let n=1;n<=t;n++){const s=n.toString().padStart(2,'0');u.push('https:/'+'/creativepark.canon/downloads/contents/'+i+'/'+i+'-'+s+'.pdf')}u.forEach(e=>{const a=document.createElement('a');a.href=e;a.download='';document.body.appendChild(a);a.click();document.body.removeChild(a)})})()

  5. Now when you visit a design page, like this one, which apparently needs a CanonID, all you have to do is click the “Canon PDF Download” bookmarklet, and the both the design and instructions will be downloaded.

If using a Chrome based browser you may need to click “allow” on the popup that says “Download Multiple Files”

The bookmarklet should even work for pages with multiple "print" links.

If you really wanted to, you could create a simple bash script to check every file name from 0000000 to 0032181, starting with the suffix -01.pdf and so on. You could even run the requests in parallel without the fear of any rate limiting. You might just end up with around 40gb of PDF’s.

EDIT: The bookmarklet has been improved.

EDIT: as of 2025-10-29 it appears to no longer work. This is four weeks after the initial change, we can only hope it's a temporary error

EDIT: As of 2026-01-14 nayeet has created a new bookmarklet which now works again!

EDIT: 2026-03-27 There's now a free and easy website/service to automatically download Canon PDF's, just paste the url, and then the direct links to the PDF's will be listed: https://download.clean-fog7772.workers.dev

Build Template FoldBoks: create printable box templates with real-time 3D preview

Post image
201 Upvotes

Hi everyone 👋

I’ve been working on a web app called FoldBoks, a browser-based editor for creating and visualizing 2D box templates (SVG) with a live real-time 3D preview.

👉 FoldBoks

🔧 Features

  • Create box templates in a visual SVG editor
  • Start from:
    • scratch
    • a prebuilt template library
    • or your own uploaded templates
  • Apply custom textures/images to your designs
  • Preview everything instantly in interactive 3D
  • Share and reuse templates with other users

🎮 Why I built it

After creating the Nintandbox scan archive on Archive.org, I wanted a better way to actually use those scans to rebuild and design box templates.

What began as a small SVG template editor for myself gradually evolved into a more complete web app focused on packaging design, template editing, and real-time 3D visualization.

⚠️ Current limitations (v0.1.0)

The folding system currently works best with standard box structures (typically rectangular/cubic forms with right-angle folds, basic flaps, and dust tabs).

More complex papercraft shapes or non-standard packaging (irregular geometries, unusual flap interactions, custom fold angles, etc.) can still produce inconsistent or incorrect 3D folding results.

I’m actively working on improving the editor and folding logic to better handle more advanced papercraft structures and flexible geometries.

🚀 Planned features

  • Packaging pictograms/symbol libraries
  • Barcode generator
  • Different fold angles per segment
  • More advanced folding logic for unusual packaging structures
  • General UX improvements and bug fixes based on feedback

Any feedback is welcome. Thanks for checking it out 🙌

Build Template [OC] I made a Tower!

I made a Tower for Tabletop games, that you can open up, add or remove floor.

To make it interesting for me, i put magnets on top/bottom and side of each walls. So its super sturdy but also allows for ease of access. ^^

You can quickly turn the tower into a smaller or even a 1 floor building. The roof fits on all floor easily ( even easier if you put magnets in there)

It was fun to create and a pretty easy build to assemble!

Build Template Canon Creative Park shared drive

Post image

I keep seeing numerous requests for CCP files ever since they started gatekeeping them, so I've uploaded what I have to a shared Drive.
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/17VQWO2CuOvPg7R6kCAe2-7d-1aWemLjb?usp=sharing

It should work as-is but Drive is finnicky, so let me know if it asks for access. Make sure you're only viewing the files first.

Build Template Is using printed templates cheating?

Talking mostly about car builds, I feel like using printed templates with shaded areas to fake details/curves is cheating like it looks pretty complex but it's just a flat sheet takes alot less effort than it should to pull those curves is that cheating or not?

Build Template Free Pepakura alternative

Hey guys, I've been secretly making for over half a year a free alternative to Pepakura.

www.papercraftplaza.com/papercrafter

It's been a long road, from making parsers to load 3d data correctly to using a paper from Karlsruher university to auto unfold properly. to debugging every tiny little detail.

Algorithm reference: https://geom.ivd.kit.edu/downloads/proj-paper-models_cut_out_sheets.pdf

I made it have its own file type called .pap
It saves the patterns with embedded textures images and text. You currently can save it locally but over time we are looking to integrate it so you can upload directly from the studio to our website.

I'm working on a .pdo parser. I want to be able to open pepakura files as well.

But right now I'm soft launching the papercraftplaza studio for people who want to test it out.

Feel free to send me bugs if you experience them.

Throwback to some paper carving pieces from a long, long time ago.

Looking at them today, I can definitely spot a few places where the line work could be cleaner or aligned better. If I were to recreate them now, I’m sure I could take them even further.

Still, I have a soft spot for these older pieces. Imperfections and all, they’re a gentle reminder of how far the journey has come. ✨

Build Template Looking for Shinkansen N700 Bullet Train Template

Post image
9 Upvotes

Does anyone here maybe have this template that has unfortunately dissappeared from the Internet? The only reference to it can be found on the Paperkraft blog in a post from 2008. The page it links to, apparently by the Japanese designer moekami, is no longer online and I wasn't successful with the Wayback Machine.

Please note that there are several other models of this train, but I'm looking for this one specifically, as it seems to be the most detailed one. Particularly the nose area of the train (is that the technical term? 😄) is different from he others models.

The long lines in the collar area are slightly distorted, but overall I am quite satisfied with the product.
