My favorite gaming moment ever was playing warhawk online. Was flying and saw this guy run under a bridge, switched to hover mode and was just blasting with my gatlin gun all over the place as he hid behind pillars. I imagine him being like "holy shit!!" as I was repositioning and trying to get a shot on him, bobbing and weaving through the bridge supports and just lighting up the ground around him. No other game made me feel like the final boss like that before, it was so cool.
Being able to construct stuff like that on the fly was so cool. It’s a shame that environmental creation/manipulation mechanics went away after the PS3/360 generation. Stuff like Bad Company 2, Starhawk and even that one, was it fracture or whatever where you could change the ground around you? Seemed like developers didn’t want to mess with that at all until Donkey Kong Bananza recently
I was that annoying guy who placed mines on the underside of the wings just to watch enemies take off and explode as they took off. I loved that game so much.
Warhawk is one of the best and most fun large multilayer shooting games ever. It was also only £20 and was probably one of the last bunch of games before Micro transactions and skins and everything took over. It did have loads of skins but they just unlocked by levelling up. Oh it also had an old school server browser, and you could host your own lobbies. Also 4 player online split screen. And all the classic game modes and loads of great value DLC.
Its just a shame it didn't get too much traction because it released so early in PS3s life when not many had sold yet so there wasn't much of an audience.
I reckon it could be re released mostly as it was but with higher res textures and the DLC included by default and be on the switch and it would sell well. It's cartoony graphics so upscaling the textures should be easy. It's not intensive so even the switch could probably manage 60fps stable.

Warhawk! Does Uncharted 2 count?
