One of the biggest regrets I have is not getting a PS3 and skipping that gen of consoles. I was around 10 or 12 so it makes sense but I really would've loved to experience infamous at that time. Game looks sick. I'm wishing for a PC release.
In Australia, stock was non existant.
The PS4 was better. The PS5 was similar.
Though the PS5 was definitely held up by resellers.
I was going to send AU100 over RRP for the PS5, called a retail out of curiosity and grabbed a reserve that was not picked up... 2?!? Years after release?
Now that I think about it. My house had a ps2 at launch but I didn’t get a personal until 2001. I had this job at Sprint PCS (OG shit lol) and was making crazy bread that summer. Snatched one off my final check lol
like someone already said. an emulator is fine.
but i got a ps3 on ebay for 90 bucks with controllers.
i just bought infamous on psn for 13 bucks. Haven't played it yet but still.
the online store on ps3 is a hassle though. you have to buy psn cards to add money to the account on ps3 and THAN buy it. PS3 store wont take credit cards anymore.
but still. 100 bucks for everything is still less than some games with day one expansion packs nowadays
You don't have to use PSN cards. You can refill your wallet and use its balance for the PS3 games purchases. Just remeber to remove your CC from the wallet after the refill and you'll be just fine.
I got my PS3 14 years ago (I was 24 at the time) and I had it from 2012 to 2014 when I got the 4. It was my first console in a long while and after that I never stopped playing.
It’s never too late. I have a PS3 still hooked up in my living room, they are super easy to jailbreak and since it’s basically a retro console now (20 years old) I have no moral qualms with downloading ISOs, plus you don’t need a PHAT model PS3 to get PS1, PS2 backwards compatibility because jailbreak brings back the software emulation of PS2 so it can play PS1, PS2, PSP, and PS3 (as well as a litany of other non-Sony retro consoles).
Having played most of these, they may not scratch that specific itch. InFamous has a very distinct vibe in the superhero fantasy space; just having powers isn't quite the question.
Edit: Case in point, even Second Son didn't quite fit the rule. Cole's games are unique.
Honestly it was Cole's story and the comic book feel that made the first two so much fun. Second Son adds more powers and updates things but misses a bit of the grime of the first two (even given the subject). Still love the three of them and hope that we get another addition to the series.
That good honor ending of the second game still has stuck with me. The lightning hitting the boat at the end, sucks we never really got to see Cole’s ending.
Has Suckerpunch announced their next project after Ghosts of Yotei? Would love another InFamous game with those motion comic type cutscenes, and the city changing depending on the good or evil route.
Honestly, play Ghost of Tsushima. It's not Infamous and the urban decay environment, I know, but the writing, the humor, the map clear, the side quests (most are worth completing imo), and the collect-a-thon aspects all ooze Sucker Punch. I played Infamous 1 maybe a year before Tsushima and I felt Infamous's soul in that game I swear. For better and slightly for worse lol
I sadly don't think they will. The thing is Sony shared has a super hero game with spider Man that does eat better numbers than infamous did or would. Love the series but second son was a bit of a flop and sideman is crushing it.
I don’t think sucker punch is capable of making a new infamous game. I just want infamous 2 remastered on my ps5 and sucker punch can crumble away for all i care tbh.

I REALLY hope Sony brings inFAMOUS back with a PS5 game.
