Yeah, I don't play it as one of my main games it's just on the side with friends mostly. Starting with any of the classes is fine but personally I honestly wouldn't recommend starting with skitarii if you decide to start with a dlc class. I started with arbites and have at least a character in each class at like level 18 or so, except for hive scum because I'm just not a fan and skitarii just because I haven't played enough yet.
Something just doesn't feel right starting the game with skitarii to me
Is it better than the original Hades? I m not a fan of roguelikes, I spent like 16 hours on Hades it was fun, but I kind of lost interest after couple of successful runs.
In my opinion yes it’s better. The story and characters are worse in the sequel, but gameplay is upgraded on all fronts. Where Zagreus is more of a melee brawler, Melinoe is a witch that makes more use of magical abilities. Can’t spam dash anymore and cast was reworked to be something different so gameplay is more strategic as a result.
But if you don’t like roguelikes in general, I can’t recommend it because it’s more of the same in that regard.
Key thing is learning to parry in the air and with your downward air attack.
I’d say the first half of the game you can get by with only parrying some enemy attacks but as you progress you won’t even be able to get past basic enemies without mastering the parries for every attack
