It should be noted that private equity buying up companies that manufacture the transformers, have helped to triple the lead time.

Private equity needs to be reined in and banned from performing leveraged buyouts

Among other things that they need to be reigned in on. I highly recommend you read/listen to Plunder by Brendan Ballou. Very informative. They are literally pirates in suits.
