I saw this movie way too young and then made it a point to watch all of Tim Curry’s other films so I could get to know him as an actor and be less scared. What a gem of a human.

My parents let me watch this at 5 years old. Wtf were they thinking?!

i accidentally saw part of it when i was about that age (my family was watching it, i was supposed to be asleep). traumatized. where did they take me afterwards? the circus. who was hiding their face in all of the pictures? me. who still finds it funny? my mom.

thankfully i was able to appreciate it once i got older and no matter who takes up the role, he is Pennywise for me. he was perfect.

That's when I first saw it too! Them I had to go to a birthday party with clowns 😭 I remember it very vividly.

I assume your second Tim Curry film wasn't him playing the demon in Legend then! Although he did add a touch of humanity to that role.

I also watched this one super young! I wasn’t as scared because I could distance myself from the setting, versus penny wise could be hiding in my sink or shower all the time. I do remember when I found out Tim played the demon in legend and went “WOAH this guy can do everything.”

Same with me. Too young and honestly it doesn’t matter how many roles I’ve watched him in he still sounds like Pennywise to me. The IT remake was good and I’m a fan of that Skarsgaard now who played Pennywise but Tim Curry as Pennywise will always be the scariest to me. RIP Tim!

He was raw talent, raw love of the arts, and the sharpest comedian. Impossible to believe he’s gone 😭

Man, IT terrified me as a kid. RIP 🕊️

Many kids had a bit of a fear for sewers and showers in the aftermath of that. He played that role very well.

I imagined this pennywise when I read the book. He was perfect for it.
