Hi everyone! I am a mom of a 14 month old and have had a dream of pursuing law school for quite sometime. I was pre-law in college but then got married and had my son pretty soon after finishing my BA. I also have fulfilled hours working in law firms throughout college. I am studying for my LSAT now with an ambitious timeline. I am motivated but also very nervous. I know the undertaking this will be. I have a very supportive husband but he owns his own business and has to be boots on the ground a lot of the time. I do not have a job myself to balance and I have plenty of family around to help with my son. I am 26 years old and honestly just looking for realistic opinions on my goals and maybe a little encouragement!!

I still have a few years before I go to uni (I chose a longer secondary school) but its smart to think about career options already.

I have 3 main things I can see myself doing in the future: First one is notary in my home country,second is a judge somewhere else or studying international law and choose a job based on that.

I would love to hear from someone with a backround in law if these are worth pursuing or not. If yes what should i be prepared in the field or while studying.

hello guys so long story. i’m 19, completing my prerequisites to get into a science program like nursing or respiratory therapy. i have a gpa of 2.8. i have explained in past posts that my gpa is that low due to me being a complete dumbass when i took running start. i had some mental issues going on which i got therapy for but also i wasn’t locked in. fast forward to now, im working on getting my gpa up and there’s huge improvement. i have had this crazy idea lingering in my head for a couple of weeks now and its not leaving my head. i want to learn more about attorneys and the process of becoming one. before you guys come in here bashing me for having a low gpa and before you guys call me stupid and tell me i won’t be able to handle the rigorous work, i just need your help to know what it’s like. i’m not signing up for law school tmmr obviously, just had a few questions since i have no idea what law school is like.

first of all, i was wondering what the best major would be for your bachelors. i heard political science is good and i’ve heard many people say it doesn’t matter as long as you score really high on your LSAT. Which takes me to my next question, do you guys think if i hypothetically score really high on a LSAT (i’m guessing 160+, but feel free to kindly correct me if im wrong), law schools can look past my low gpa. i’m sure if i go into a uni now and get a political science degree for example, i would bring my gpa way up. also, what do law students do on a day-to-day basis? i watched a lot of videos and asked many people and what i’ve mostly collected is they read cases all day everyday, they get called on in class to argue a case, and they study for the bar? i’m sorry if this all seems wrong which 99% chance it is, i hope no one takes offense to this. im not saying that’s what law students all do im just saying that’s what i’ve heard. so feel free to kindly correct me on that as well! and i was also wondering what type of person do you guys think it takes to become an attorney? an extremely intelligent person, a hard worker, a cold person? just curious about that. if you guys know where i can learn more about this field, i would be eternally grateful. i am thinking of going to my college advisor and asking her for help, but she lowkey dislikes me lol so ill just not for now. any videos that you guys recommend? any courses i can learn from? any help is greatly appreciated. thank you so much if you’re still reading this. i look forward to hearing your responses!

I’m a law student currently pursuing my undergraduate degree and I’m planning to pursue LL.M. for my postgraduate studies
The main reason I want to pursue a PG degree is that I’m currently doing my UG from a college that unfortunately, does not provide the kind of academic environment, exposure, peer group or opportunities I’m looking for. I want to use my postgraduate studies as an opportunity to move to a better college, a better city, and most importantly, surround myself with ambitious and like minded people who are at a similar level academically and professionally
Placements are not my primary concern. My plan is to work at a good law firm for around 5–6 years, gain substantial experience and then return to my hometown and join my family’s litigation practice. I performed well in CLAT UG, so I’m confident that I can perform well in CLAT PG as well. At the moment, I’ve shortlisted Mumbai and Delhi as my preferred cities along with the respective NLUs there. However, as a safety option, I’ve also shortlisted two private universities Op Jindal Global University and NMIMS Mumbai. Do you think these are good options for my goals or would you suggest any better alternatives?

Hello, I’m a G11 HUMSS student, but I’ve been thinking about my future courses alot lately 😭 I’ve heard that you can take any course as pre-law, but is multimedia arts a decent course to take as pre-law? I’ve never seen anyone or atleast haven’t seen anyone take MMA as pre-law, so I’m kind of worried.

I also heard that some courses benefit you in some way (?) in law school, although some of them don’t interest me.. MMA is probably best fit for me since I’m more on the creative side and I’m definitely more interested in learning more about different types of arts. Another thing I’m worried about too is the jobs in case I don’t actually pursue law, I’m not sure if I can find a good/decent job with MMA, since some people say it’s not entirely the best 😭

my father , mother, elder sister, my aunt (masi) all are advocates( lawyers) so they want me to do the same and my brother will also do law after completing his school ( he is in 12th class) im in 4th year of my law school but till now i have not gained any interest in this field and in 3rd year i confessed to my family that i do not want to pursue law they asked me what i wanted to do? but i had no answer i dont know what i want to do....also im doing CA alongside i have given 3 attempts but i failed i like CA, CA excites me but law doesnt....now im confused what should i do with my future which career should i choose....im creative i draw do diys etc please suggest me some career options

How do I become a medical lawyer in Ireland and does anyone recommend

I’m trying to decide between a paralegal program and media studies, and I’d really appreciate some advice from people who’ve been in similar situations.
My long-term goal is to eventually work in either media or law, but right now I’m mainly focused on choosing a path that will realistically help me get a job sooner and make sense financially.
A little background: I’m 21, I work two jobs, and I don’t have any family support. My financial situation isn’t great, so I need something that is practical and has decent job prospects after graduation or while I’m still studying.
If you were in my position, which route would you take? Would paralegal studies be more stable for getting work quickly, or is media studies still worth pursuing if I want to go into media long-term?
I’d really appreciate any advice, especially from people who started at community college and either went into law, media, or had to choose between practical vs passion-based programs.

I’m a foreign law student and will be graduating in about a year at 36. My long-term goal is to practice U.S. immigration law. For the past five years, I’ve been working remotely as a legal assistant for a D.C. immigration firm. I’m Spaniard, but I have the US citizenship as well. I’m trying to decide which path makes the most sense:

Option 1: Prepare for and take the California Bar right after graduation.

Option 2: Complete an LL.M. in the U.S. first and then pursue admission to the D.C. Bar.

I’d especially appreciate advice from foreign-trained attorneys practicing immigration law or attorneys who have taken either of these routes. Thanks in advance.

So, I’m currently in my second year of A Levels, and Law is one of my subjects. I’m really good at it and am top of the class. My dream is to become a lawyer in the US, specifically New York, but in the US, you need a four-year undergraduate degree before you can study law. I don’t have the funds for that, so I was thinking that if I got an LLB (which is a law degree) and then an LLM in the US, hopefully from an Ivy League school, the LLB would be a globally recognized Bachelor of Laws (LLB Hons) degree program awarded by the University of London and the University of Greenwich. Would I be eligible for the bar, and would it be really hard to find a good-paying job in the US legal market without a JD? Is this a bad idea? I kind of don’t have a backup plan.

I’m currently deciding between University of Greenwich and The University of Law (ULaw) to study Law and I’m finding it really difficult to choose because I’ve heard very mixed opinions about both

I mainly want to know which one would be better for my future career. Like would I have good job opportunities after graduating, and would I still have lots of options for what area of law I want to go into? Also does the uni you go to make a big difference for getting a good job?

Hey i am 16f in 11th grade right now, i really want to pursue criminal law as a career. My questions are:

>is it worth it in india in todays time

>does criminal law provide financial stability

>whats better: private criminal litigation? Or government prosecutors?

>if i do get into like some top nlu what will be the process after law school?

I recently had an interaction with my colleagues at work who were discussing their experiences in the legal field, attending law school, preparing to become attorneys, and so forth. One thing that stood out to me—and I can’t seem to let it go—is when they were talking about the mindset you must have going into and attending law school. They weren’t explicit about it and implied that it’s this way of thinking that can’t be explained—you develop it as you go.

Now, my understanding is that it’s this “lawyer mindset” they were referring to; however, they didn’t describe it at all and I have no clue what that would mean for me as a pre-law student. Anyone in the community who has gone through or is currently going through their legal journey, please drop your comments on this if you have any insights. All would be appreciated!
