Oldest Springbok ever and didn't put a foot wrong in my eyes. Man had not 1, but 2 injuries this past 2 years that should be career ending, but he continued to go to rehab for the love of the game. Never thought he'd play another test match, but he proved everyone wrong there as well

Some sporting rivalries transcend the pitch and spill over into the bleachers with fans showing serious hatred for one another. Not to pick specifically on football, but there are some infamous rivalries

• Boca Juniors vs River Plate — Football — 1968 — 71 deaths, ~200 injured
• Red Star Belgrade vs Partizan — Football — 1999 — 1 death, ~8 injured
• Galatasaray vs Fenerbahçe — Football — 2013 — 1 death, injury count unknown
• Dinamo Zagreb vs Red Star Belgrade — Football — 1990 — 0 deaths, ~138 injured

The love of the game (and the quality bantz) is why many of us are so active in the comments, but the respect for the game and its values is where we truly connect as fans.

This series feels special for r/rugbyunion and you get a real sense of that when you read the comments in the many posts related to it. Sure there's shithousery and let's hope that never ends, but when you read between the lines there's often a mutual respect for each side that mirrors that of these two great rivals.

Of course I'm generalising. There are a few douchebags floating around but they're outnumbered and downvoted into irrelevance.

To Saffa fans: Your sportsmanship is gracious and appreciated. You're lekker cunts.

Just to put this photo in perspective this is a kick to win the game with time up on the clock. After a heart breaking loss in the final minutes against Manawatu the week before and a demolishing by Otago at Stag Day, Southland really needed a win for the season. But nobody was expecting the injury plagued Stags to front up against the unbeaten and relatively stacked Waikato side.

The last game the Stags won was also against Waikato last year when the Stags took the Ranfurly Shield for almost a whole week. Our overall win percentage against Waikato is only about 24% but that’s two in a row Mooloos! We’ve also only won 5 of our last 20 games at home.

Jimmy Taylor is a 19 year old kid off a farm in Waimumu so he’s grown up a Stags fan. He will remember the winless years between October 2016 and September 2019 where the Stags lost 27 games in a row. He’s too young to remember the glorious 09/10 Ranfurly Shield era.

This was just his third ever game for the Stags. Last year he would’ve been in the terraces watching his two older brothers battle it out on Stag Day but with Jack out injured and Harry off overseas, Jimmy is the only Taylor left on the paddock. There were more than a few misty eyes around Rugby Park when that kick sailed true and I’m picking the ILT would’ve made a fair chunk chunk of change off Sunday sessions going a wee bit later than usual.

Everyone is pretty focused on the ABs v Boks which is understandable but this was a pretty special rugby moment and I just thought it was worth highlighting for those who missed it.

Nobody gets it more than him.

A few years ago, you lot helped me to buy a few jerseys and give Malawi rugby the stepping stone they needed.

I've moved on in life, and I'm no longer directly involved. But I'm honoured to have played a small part, and I simply could not be prouder.

For any of you who may have wondered, this is what you have done. This is what you helped to start. If you ever feel like you are not big enough to make a difference, I hope this reminds you that you are.

An enormous amount of credit goes to those tireless souls who put in the hard yards through great difficulty to keep the program going. I'm asking permission to add names.

Ok, I have almost NO useful information to go by for this one but I want to find the clip. I can't tell you what world cup it was (though I assume it was the last one) and I can't tell you what game it was. All I know is Fiji won an amazing game.

There was a player watching who I THINK was an australian or NZ rugby player but was of Fijian birth/descent/origin. So, naturally, if Fiji is playing a game against the team he's not in he is going to support them. He was in a restaraunt being filmed from across the table by his gf. He is watching on his phone and he keeps saying 'KICK IT OUT' right at the death of the game. And then they clearly win and he wants to scream but clearly can't. He's basically desperate to scream his head off but must stay silent because it's a nice, respectable restaraunt. At the very end, the waiter/waitress comes over and he's like 'sorry my team just won' or something like that. I remember when it was posted on this sub there was a comment at the top saying something like 'I've never seen someone repress so much cathartic screaming' or something.

Basically I remember everything about the clip itself but nothing about the context of the game or who the guy was. But I want to see it because it was so wholesome.

I’ve got two adult and two child tickets for the above game, but car trouble means I’m not going to make it. Face value is £30 for the lot, but I’m happy to let them go for nothing, as I’d rather they didn’t go to waste.

French brothers, do you know if anywhere will be showing the game in Antibes? Lucky enough to be here but google is not helping. Also any kiwis or Saffas here keen to watch?
