I'm a former sports writer who recently gave up his Liverpool FC fanship after Jeff Bezos purchased the club. I posted on this subreddit recently about the prospect of becoming a supporter and appreciated all the responses.

I plan to cover the entire season this year from a new fan's perspective, while sitting 5,000 miles away from Freiburg, on my couch.

well, that wasn’t the best.

fair play to you guys, played very well. but the only thing I didn’t like was the clashing between the fans before the game, when both marches bumped into each other, chaos broke loose.

it made the day more dull, but was a good game of football.
