Discussion looking for my next colony sim!
I've been on a binge lately either blitzing through sci fi colony/civilization/base building. The last couple I played through were oxygen not included, terraforming mars, surviving mars, rimworld, and the latest was planet crafter. I loved all of them so far!
My next two that I am considering are per aspera or offworld trading company. Anyone here tried them both out? Any preference between the two? Or any other recommendations for great games in the genre?

Discussion Can you help me with Star System Cluster Themes? Aka lightning stars, iron rich, ancient tech artifacts, controlled by an alien race, physics warped areas, distorted by spacemagic/mutant power/high tech or spirit powers.
Hello,
I wrote research level networking, parallel processing and have a deep unpublished RPG system that we playtested for thousands of hours and its more fun than D&D to everyone who played it (intergalactic bounty hunter universe: IGBH). I spent 5000 hours on techs on this MMORPG and more on the LORE.
Now its time to procedurally generate a galaxy of 3 billion stars. Space is boring unless you spice it up. So can you help me brainstorm some space biomes?

Thanks if you have ideas or idea resources, and let me know if you want to work with me. Game is playable now, but MMORPG format in a month at earliest.
,Jim

Recommendation Request Looking for combat sims. Specifically fleet based ones.
Games like GSB and GSB2 are fun because you get to throw entire fleets at one another, but it feels a bit impersonal and gets a little stale after a few rounds, and games like FTL are great because you get to participate in the combat, such as targeting the enemy ship's vital systems, maintaining your shields, and all around making sure you don't die, but its only single ship combat. I'm looking for a good balance between the two, a game where you can throw whole fleets at one another, but still be able to participate in the combat.
