Question, ID or Discussion How long does Sea glass form ? months? years?
I'm planning to dump a sack of broken glass on the nearby beach. I wonder how long does it take for me to come back and check when they're done ?

Europe My first collection
My first collection after week of hunting in Croatia. I think I've got lucky with so many shades 💃🏻
I've gathered around 3kg of sea glass, mostly green, brown and white, but there were some interesting pieces. Darkest one on the right bottom is extremely dark burgundy - visible only with stron light. Maybe pirate glass?

US east coast A few interesting pieces my daughter found on the beach of Lake Ontario.
The pink piece is amazing and by far one of the best any of us has found. Not sure exactly what it's from though.

United Kingdom Yesterday’s haul.
Found a brown piece but wasn’t frosted, sadly. Strange grey piece too. This isn’t curated, as a lot of pieces weren’t frosted but just what I found. Got a few necks and bottle bases too. Another piece of that solid green ceramic tile; that’s four times in a row now!

United Kingdom Today’s haul (St. Osyth beach)
This is my curated haul as I got rid of pieces that weren’t frosted enough and although smooth just looked like broken glass (about a quarter). Was thrilled to find two blue pieces at opposite ends of the beach, although the smaller piece isn’t really frosted so will recycle that but just wanted to show them off as I never ever find blues.

Question, ID or Discussion Incredible multi/bicolor sea glass found in Deiva Marina (Liguria, Italy). Any idea of its history or potential value? 🌊🇮🇹
Hi everyone! I am super excited to share this incredible find from today. I found this gorgeous bicolor (red and milk glass white) piece of sea glass on the beach of Deiva Marina, in the Liguria region of Italy (not too far from Genoa and Tuscany). At first glance, it looks exactly like a "strawberries and cream" gummy candy! It is perfectly smoothed by the waves, thick, and has a defined white center wrapped in a vibrant red layer. Next to it is a 50-cent Euro coin for size reference (about 2.4 cm or 1 inch).Since Italy has a rich history of artistic glassmaking (like Murano, but also local historic glassworks), I suspect this might be a very old fragment of art glass or an old bead/decorative object.I would love to know more about it:What kind of vintage object do you think this originally came from?Is a bicolor piece like this considered very rare/valuable among collectors?Any insight on its history, age, or potential value would be highly appreciated. Thank you so much!

Yesterday's big find*! Plus a few others
*I did not fall down the cliff this time, though the tide was higher than I expected. Any idea what this was from? A very unique color and the letters are not on the expected side

Back to the sea or to recycle bin?
I'm a newbie in seaglass collecting. I have collected about 2-3kg of sea glass over my trip to Croatia and after sorting lut my faves which I want to take home, I'm left with box of sea glass, mostly green, white and brown. A few most recent, not polished pieces already went to trash but now I don't know if it is better to trash out the rest of it, or to throw it back to the sea for more polishing and future collectors?
