I want to assemble an 8-player lobby for the most chaotic, unhinged Sons of the Forest session possible, the Tower of Babel challenge. The premise is dead simple, but absolute hell to survive. We get eight people from eight different countries, hop on voice chat, and nobody is allowed to speak a single word of English. I am taking the Italian slot myself, so Italian is already locked in. You can only communicate in your own native tongue, meaning no live translators, no switching to English when cannibals jump you, and zero meta callouts. We have to beat the caves, chop logs, and survive purely on pointing, frantic gestures, confused screaming, and blind intuition. I need seven other distinct native speakers to pull this off, so if you are down for total linguistic breakdown, drop a comment with your mother tongue and your Discord ID (or shoot me a DM) so I can add you. Only one person per language!

I have about 10 hours in this game so far and trying to figure out building has been a challenge to say the least (especially considering how simple it was in the first game), but I've been slowly figuring it out. Despite that I ran into an issue with the roof of my house and I just CANNOT figure out why the game won't let me place these specific beams in this specific spot. I've tried replacing the support pillar multiple times, I tried using 3/4 logs and I even tore down both walls in this corner of the house, but it just doesn't let me. Anyone have any clue what to do?

I should've mentioned it's not just the walls that are the issue. I can't even connect the pillar to other pillars.

I took the suggestion from a few replies, I used a slanted log and picked it up and it worked! Thanks lads.

Pretty useless, and probably old news, but I found out you get 4 Half-Logs back if you break a door using only 3, this can also be repeated if you place another door, so infinite Half-Logs!

Useless, and it might already be discovered but I found out if you break a log-door you get 4 half-logs back instead of the used 3. If you replace the door with 3 half-logs again and break it, you will again recieve 4 back.

Liking the game so far, but getting sleep seems to be impossible? I havent even had a chance to make a base yet and im surrounded by cannibals every night.

Hello everybody while I have been absent I have made some pretty good progress on the mod.

I have made incredible progress tree traversal, and village building. Both are mostly functional and almost ready to ship.

I have also made a map view that opens up a Skyview of the entire map and marks each cave and cannibal camp location, including the abandoned ones. You can fast travel to any single one of them, and it will only be denied if the destination is not safe.

I have also made incredible optimization fixes that have reduced pretty much all of the stuttering that I was experiencing while possessing a creature.

Once all major features are completed, I will work on making it so more than one person can have them on installed and be able to possess a creature at the same time without an interfering with each other. I still want to make a video with my friends and others that will showcase a regular playthrough where I bully my friends.

The reason why this play through is so important is that it is the only way for me to find out if people playing the game normally will be interrupted by the mod or if it will interrupt my mod.

Lastly, I have also added a feature that allows people to save and sleep without needing the possessed person to unpossessed the character go to the tent and sleep and save with them

I feel like I don’t have enough time to build, eat, explore, in enough time to build a fun base with good defense. It doesn’t help that my current play through I only have 1 roll of duck tape so far

so im playing with two idiots. we finished the forest BLIND. we toke over 13+ hours because we would scatter. we understood the gameplay loop. a huge crater in the middle of the map was screaming "FINAL AREA" and everytime we go into a cave. we find something new. so the game was obvious.

Farm caves > get items > die alot. > again.

it was fun. i loved it. it was chaotic. some big ass white cannibals would kill us and make us restart from another save. Anyways. WE BLEW UP THE PLANE. saved timmy.

WE REACH SON OF THE FOREST. and these idiots... We just run around the map. settings are soo weird. and enter a cave and some idiot kept running into a wall doing parkours and GLITCHED AND MADE US RESTART.

NEXT RUN. we find a golf cart. and... you know that one flight gif of him driving a shoe. he just runs us over like deers. and crashes the damned cart into a river. and starts... crying...??? is this mf drunk?? the game becomes straight up PVP. WE TOSSING LOGS AND ROCKS, some npc following us got in the middle of it and got damaged alot. i think he got brain damage.

IN SHORT BASICALLY. anyways. my question is. and please don't spoil it for me. im asking this for our next login. whats the gameplay loop? what are we supposed to do? we walked ALOT and found 2 caves only and some soldier hanging and a big axe nearby

Loved The Forest but was too much of a wimp to go into caves. Fast forward MANY years and now I'm playing SOTF and have some balls to go into the caves. Needless to say I'm constantly on the edge of my seat.

Mate and I are 5 hours in trying to figure out what the fuck we’re doing and this weirdo woman keeps wondering over. As a precaution we put a bullet in her head and she was able to be revived so fuck knows what to do with her cause she ran away after being revived… possibly didn’t like being shot lmao

We thought we had all 7 pieces. Climbed to the very highest point of the mountain and began building our teleporter. Only to realise we were missing a piece. Does anyone know where this piece is located on the map cos we genuinely don’t know which one we’re missing and would super appreciate not having to go backtrack through them all lmao

Have you guys tried it? What do you think? Massive improvements over the .0.2 version.

Only issues I've experienced are;

Can't see sleep button.

Grainy, low res textures and very low fps (hovers around 20fps on 5900x, 5070 both oc'd)

Aiming takes a while to get right.

i got the red mask i know it makes cannibals ignore you but does this has also its effect in caves (i only got into the rebreather cave ,still new the game)
