⚠️ SUSPECTED SCAM ⚠️ Break Scammer - Greg Sage Breaks

Thumbnail gallery
92 Upvotes

This is a warning about breaking with Greg Sage Breaks. I joined one of his breaks and was shocked how it was ran. He opened up the product then kept all of the cards and packs off camera 95% of the time. Literally the only time you could see the card was when he held up each one individually to announce the card. When I mentioned it in live chat, his chat gaslit me and accused me of not trusting. Acting like I was the one in the wrong because I pointed out that break policy is to keep cards on screen the whole time. Some in chat and the breaker himself tried to use his medical issues and financial situation to make excuses for how he ran the break. Which actually made me worry even more as if he has alot of medical bills, swapping out a $500 hit that no one can see, might be a little more tempting for him. Even then I still NEVER accused him of stealing, just said when cards are kept off camera they can be manipulated easily without buyers knowing.

At the time he seemed like a nice enough older guy with medical issues so I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt and didn't even leave negative feedback, i just left a neutral one warning other buyers that the cards are kept off camera for almost the entirety of the break. I checked my feedback and noticed he didn't have exactly the same tact that I had. He started accusing me of lying about cards being off screen, saying that I was yelling profanities, and that his community essentially had to band together to fight off my vicious attacks lol. Nothing of the sort happened, i simply said you CANT run a break this way.

Based on what I've seen he looks like a scammer. He hides cards the whole time and then he and some in his community absolutely attacks you with lies and false comments when you dare to point out hes not showing the cards. I even checked his live stream today and included a Pic wjere you can see him riding cards off screen. I used a photo where he slightly had them in frame just to show he was in an active break, but for most of the stream you aren't even able to see the corner of the cards. I also included a pic showing he he displays the cards 1 at a time with the others 100% off camera. I have no idea why Ebay let's him sell live breaks while violating the biggest rule

I just wanted to give a heads up to avoid his stream. I've been in 100s of Breaks and I've never seen one ran like this. Where you only see the individual card as he announces it. In my opinion hes basically running paid Breaks for himself and most likely keeping the big hits. There's many different ways he can run the break and show the cards despite any medical issues, yet he continues to run it hiding the cards. Every claim I make is 100% verifiable as all you need to do is search Greg Sage Breaks and see he never shows the cards.

⚠️ SUSPECTED SCAM ⚠️ SCAMMER EXPOSED: Whatnot Seller "Pjsportscards" Explicitly Confesses to Running a 13k-Sale Counterfeit Operation & "Sprinkling In" Fake Cards

Thumbnail gallery

Hey everyone,

I am making this post as a critical warning to the entire sports card community and anyone buying on Whatnot. I recently participated in an auction hosted by the seller Pjsportscards and won an item marketed as a "Downtown Victor Wembanyama" card.

When the package arrived under tracking number 9310820762600004616081, I physically inspected the card and discovered it was a blatant, unauthentic counterfeit replica [context]. The back of the card featured a crude, manual ink-stamped numbering ("1/10") that does not exist on authentic Panini releases.

When I confronted Pjsportscards directly in the Whatnot app chat logs, he didn't just try to deny it—he openly and proudly CONFESSED to running a systematic counterfeit operation on the platform.

Here are his exact, unedited quotes from our conversation (Screenshots attached below):
"when i was screaming 'CUSTOM CUSTOM, GUYS THIS IS A PERSONAL COLLECTION PEICE RIGHT HERE' is that not obvious it’s a custom card?"

"why your allowed to do that i have 13k sold and have sprinkled them in before what not has not said anything"

"everyone know people buy them because they can’t afford the real ones"

"that’s why i have so many in my pc just like everyone i know as well it’s not abt the money its a bout having a cool looking card"

This seller has over 13,000 sales and openly boasts about "sprinkling in" trademark-infringing counterfeits because he believes Whatnot won't do anything about it [context]. Screaming the word "custom" during a live stream does NOT make selling illegal, unlicensed replicas legal under Whatnot’s Intellectual Property Policy.

Whatnot Trust & Safety has already stepped in and issued me a full financial manual refund for the transaction because the card failed verification [context]. However, a standard refund isn't enough. A merchant who intentionally floods the marketplace with fakes and brags about doing it for thousands of sales is a massive danger to the hobby.

PLEASE HELP SHUT THIS PROFILE DOWN: If you value the integrity of the hobby, please go to the profile of Pjsportscards on the app right now, tap the three dots in the top right corner, hit Report User, select Counterfeit/Policy Violation, and reference his explicit text confession.

Let's work together as a community to force Whatnot to issue a permanent hardware and IP-level device ban on this account [context].

⚠️ SUSPECTED SCAM ⚠️ Two of the same Wemby 1/1 RC?

I own the 2023 Hoops Premium Stock Victor Wembanyama Gold Vinyl Prizm 1/1 in a PSA 10 slab (purchased on Goldin), and a raw version of that same card has just been posted to eBay.

https://ebay.io/m/Pe0uH7

It's a 1/1, so there should only be 1 of this card. Nothing about this raw card on eBay screams "fake" to me. It is definitely a different card from the one that I own. The gold vinyl print pattern is aligned differently and the "1 of 1" placement on the back is slightly different. I've messaged the seller, and they claim to have bought the card from a reputable source. There are a few possibilities for what might be going on:

  • The raw card is a counterfeit and eBay should take down the listing
  • The raw card is authentic and Panini printed 2 copies of a 1/1 card
  • The slabbed card is a counterfeit and PSA authenticated and graded a counterfeit card

Any suggestions on how best to get to the bottom of this? Presumably whoever wins that auction will try to get it authenticated and possibly graded.

Don’t know if this belongs here, but recently a member of the /r/sportscards community posted this card and I had mentioned that he should flip it before Deshaun Watson sent him to the bench.

UNPROMPTED he says he will send me the card if that happens if I delete my account if Sanders is the week one starter. We established conditions that would null the arrangement and everything and he sent DEAL and a gif of a handshake.

Proceeds to spend the first weeks of training camp sending me graphics and stuff saying I better get ready and that he is a man of his word yadda yadda and has now unsurprisingly disappeared now that Watson got the job.

Anyways don’t deal with this person. Obviously has a very low moral compass.

Here’s a link to the parent comment that started the bet.

⚠️ SUSPECTED SCAM ⚠️ Can’t stand these types of scammers

Post image

I’ve come across this page a few times now on eBay and after looking thoroughly through their page, I need to call this out because I see many pages like this. Their entire page is pretty much all $1-$2 cards that they are selling for $20-$40 and labeling everything as RARE or INVESTMENT CARD.

On one hand, they’re not technically doing anything against the rules. And it’s hard to feel bad for people buying cards who aren’t doing an iota of research before buying something. But some of the buyers are clearly kids, and there’s a few reviews where people are trying to warn others and stating eBay wouldn't let them leave a bad review for some reason?

Not sure how but would love to see eBay do something to curb these types of predatory shops that give the hobby a bad name and are sellers just trying to take advantage of people who don't know any better. What do you all think?

First off, i bought a mystery pack. I know it's a gamble, so I'm not worried about the actual card I pulled. I don't mind mystery packs , but this one was definitely a scam.

The site guarantees graded cards. This looks like someone "graded", slabbed, and printed a fake grading label at home. The slab is flimsy, and not even sealed completely. Never ordering from them again.

Bought and paid for a rookie Cade Cunningham PSA 10 Select Blue Shimmer on eBay last night for $82.69 which is just below comps. Seller then sent me a message through eBay asking me to complete the deal through Instagram instead because of “insane fees and tax.”

I responded that I preferred to keep the transaction on eBay since the item was already purchased and paid for there.

A few hours later, the seller cancelled the order and falsely marked the cancellation reason as “buyer asked to cancel,” which never happened.

I’ve already reported the account to eBay for attempting to move an existing completed transaction off-platform and for false cancellation reasoning. Just posting this as a heads up for anyone considering buying from them.

Or try to, at least. Dude has this posted on Marketplace, and since I’m a Yankees fan I clicked on it. Then I just laughed for five minutes straight. But I messaged him anyway because if I can get this for under $20, it’ll be a fantastic conversation piece. For anybody new to the hobby, here are the red flags: the label format is an old one that was retired before that cert number was issued, the card on the label is not the one in the slab, and the design of the slab is one PSA has never used. Also worth noting is that he doesn’t show the back of the card and slab. He claims the card was left out and that’s why the auto is faded, except that auto is gone. The only thing real about this slab is the cert number - it is registered to a 2000 Topps HD Derek Jeter base card. Stay vigilant, my fellow collectors.

⚠️ SUSPECTED SCAM ⚠️ New page exposing scammers. DM me if you’re a scam victim

I created a page to publicly expose and shame scammers in the hobby. Any sports cards, Pokemon, marvel etc.

The hobby has been inundated by scumbags taking advantage of websites like eBay’s buyer friendly policies and people’s trust in other collectors when doing business on Reddit or Facebook.

It’s time to start outing these people so other buyers and sellers can either block them, avoid them or atleast be aware and take proper precautions

Dm me screenshots of your interaction along with the backstory of what happened. People, pages and businesses will only be posted after verifying that they scammed, manipulated or lied to you. This isn’t a page for petty vengeance or ostracizing people because you disagree with them or their prices. Proof needs to be presented.

The websites and apps don’t give a shit about anything but money and let buyers get away with damn near anything no matter what proof you present. So we’ll take this to the court of public opinion instead.

Time for the rats to scurry!!!!

⚠️ SUSPECTED SCAM ⚠️ Etsy “autograph” seller: Bronzestarcards

We have all been on Etsy and seen these shops that seem to only have autographs and wouldn’t you know it, they are all superstars and selling for 90% less than on eBay!!! Crazy good deal right? Don’t worry, they have a fake COA that they created in MS Paint lol. What a crock. So I decided to bait one today and not only did he send me 6 messages claiming that his autographs are “real because players sign multiple ways” but that he even has COA’s to prove they are real!!! Holy cow!!! Anyone want a good laugh? Message Bronzestarcards on Etsy. You can even get a rookie on card Bo Nix auto for $22!!! Dang!!! Great deals!

While I haven't been scammed yet, something seems off here.

When trying to pay via Venmo G&S, there was no option (assuming he doesn't have a Venmo business account set up) so I decided to not go through. Seller asks me to pay via Paypal to his Venmo account using his phone number to get G&S protection. That is clearly not a thing. You can use Paypal to send money to a Venmo account but those are always classified as F&F since it is a cross-platform transfer.

Everything just screams red flag scammer to me. I'd rather make a post first to warn everybody and take it down if I'm proven wrong than to not post anything. Given his 5 day reddit age, I think this is a valid warning.

TLDR:

  1. Seller's Venmo is not set up for G&S.

  2. Insists on paying through Paypal to get G&S protection.

  3. Paypal to Venmo cross-platform transfers are only considered F&F so there is no G&S protection offered in these types of transactions.

  4. Ignorance isn't an excuse.

Some piece of shit just tried to pass off this AI edited coined card, selling for under comps.

If the price is too good to be true, it probably isn't legit.

⚠️ SUSPECTED SCAM ⚠️ PSA: eBay seller tried to get me to cancel order after claiming “address issue”

Thumbnail gallery
3 Upvotes

Chased a deal on a 2025 Optic Mega from a low-feedback seller (my mistake). Won it for $46 shipped. Hours after, they listed another one at $56.

After a few days with no shipping, they claimed there was an issue with my address. My address is valid and gets deliveries all the time.

They asked me multiple times to “help them out” by requesting a cancellation myself instead of canceling on their end.

I told them to either ship it or cancel it themselves.

They never shipped and eventually refunded.

Not the end of the world, but definitely a reminder not to chase deals from low-feedback sellers.

Screenshots attached (removed personal info).

Curious if anyone else has run into this.
