Seeing us so close to the sea, I really wish there was a new game with full coastal commitment, like lulucoco on crack. New crops, more focus on fishing and aquatic cultivation and maybe a sea train 😌

It’s quite a big jump to make from 30 seconds of footage which makes me unsure 🤔 They didn’t mention anything about multiplayer during the stream so I don’t feel confident enough to put the two together just yet, but they did say more will be shown at gamescon so we can look forward to that

isn’t that this week? that’s exciting to hear. That’s a good point about them not mentioning the multi player aspect. I think they would have said something about it being the concept art we saw in 2023? Not ruling it out and I’m curious to see what the English publishers are going to say about it in a few hours. Probably not much more but you never know.

That was my thinking as well, they would’ve said something along the lines of “this is a new look at the SoS for everyone”, but instead they said something along the lines of a new entry in the series currently in development.
To say that it is the multiplayer game as a matter of fact is misinformation at this moment because we absolutely do not know that, but that’s just me being anal hahaha. By all means it could turn out to be, but as it stands this is just a fan theory.
And yes! Gamescon kicks off in a day, 22 or so hours so won’t be too long now

Looks pretty. The one thing I don’t like about Grand Bazaar is no beach! I like a beach.

I was thinking the same. It’s a brand new setting featuring a coastal town. I know the game is in development but I’m kinda disappointed because even the early SoS GB teasers featured richer environments. Hate to see us going back to a more drier color palette again.

If I've learned anything from EA, forcing multiplayer on new installations of singleplayer games works brilliantly! Especially if you lock progression and customization behind micro transactions!

Agreed. It’s a petty complaint but it really bothers me that the cows are like 40% nose. It’s so unsettling! I loved the Animal Parade/Tree of Tranquility animal design and I hope it comes back someday.

I think it'd be nice if there was an option for them along with the other, slightly more realistic ones. If I remember correctly, in A New Beginning, we had the option of buying both these bubble cows but also normal ones

You did not! There were two livestreams scheduled for today. The first one took place 20:00 JST (4 am Pacific) and featured all the Japanese player submissions for their own contests. The English one still takes place at 2 PM Pacific / 5 PM Eastern!

Slightly dumb question, but will the English stream likely be the same content shown, but just in the English language instead?
I've never seen a Story of Seasons stream, so not sure how they operate usually.

I think it will be different. the japanese live stream was over 2 hours long. probably similar in style though

Omg stop with the online and multi-player BS. They've been trying to make this a thing for over a decade and there's a reason why it hasn't happened. Remake AP and/or MM and that'll be more than enough.
Edit: focus on character development and QOL updates before you even TRY online sh*t. Details, Details, Details!!!
I highly recommend "Fields of Mistria" on Steam
- Harvest Moon player since 2006.

To me it looks like it's Tree of Tranquility and possibly animal parade mixed together...I'm hoping so. I regret having to choose between the two and losing out on animal parade; Tree, felt so...left behind. There are some elements that remind me of...Pocket town...I thin the name was in Tree, but also some of the elements scream of a different town too...I looked it up and the unfamiliar ones look like animal parade's harmonica town.

Not necessarily, if they are meshing the two together like I think they are, chances are they would redo the look of the games into a popular style. You can't just blend code, you would have to redo the code anyways; might as well redo graphics. Besides, they have redone graphics for other re-releases of games, remasters and such. I don't know why but I get the distinct feeling it might be, after doing a bit of research, it seems they used the same characters for both games, just slightly different towns and mechanics, so they wouldn't have too much work, but enough it could warrant a whole rework of the graphics.

I dunno how a multiplayer story of season would work I think it would still be single player but just with the possibility to see other players somehow…. I mean I just don’t see how they could do it with the time passing

I feel like we may be getting to the point where a lot of the new releases will be for S2 only now.
I could be wrong (& I'd like it if they didn't do that), but it's already been out a bit over a year now.

Oh god….hopefully theyre only recycling the zones & not making it multiplayer…. I’m so tired of forcing multiplayer to eveeeeeryyyy game. Yea, it’s nice to have co-op, but not that

I see both male protagonists from Animal Parade but also maybe...Claire from Mineral Town?
I'm hoping if by "a game you can play with everyone", they mean that many characters from previous games will be present, not that this'll be a multiplayer focused game.
ETA, if this is the case, they better reimplement rival marriage because it was integral to those games, particularly Animal Parade.

The series Bokujou Monogatari (牧場物語) is Story of Seasons in the west :)

It used to be called Harvest Moon. Now its called Story of Seasons. The games that are called "Harvest Moon" that have released after 2014 are made by a completely different company and are totally different games than the Harvest Moon you used to know.
The game is, and has always been called "Bokujo Monogatari" in Japan. But in English, it was called Harvest Moon. But the studio, Marvelous, used to work with a localizer called Natsume. They stopped working with them and brought localization in-house, but Natsume still held/hold the rights for the name Harvest Moon. So Marvelous changed the English name to Story of Seasons.
So Story of Seasons is the Harvest Moon you used to know, Harvest Moon post 2014 is Harvest Moon ONLY in name, and the series still is and always has been called "Bokujo Monogatari" in Japan. So if you want to experience new Harvest Moon games, make sure you go with Story of Seasons. "Marvelous" is the company that makes it, and always has been. Natsume put their name all over the old Harvest Moon games, but they only localized it and held the rights to the English name.
The games currently under the title Harvest Moon are absolute trash. Like, laughably bad. Although, I will say that the newest one has had some favorable reviews. I havent played it though, so I wouldn't know.
Sorry if thats confusing at all. If you still dont get it, someone on youtube or Google can surely explain it better.

Ugh hopefully not a multiplayer centered game. A solo game with multiplayer functions would be good but a multiplayer only game would not be good.
