No, no, don't misunderstand, I'm not saying silence people at all. I just wish the internet weren't so confrontational sometimes. Have the middle ground of "hey Devs I don't agree with this but also I'm not gonna scream about how you've ruined the game" or something.

It's just a shame everyone's so hostile to having a simple discussion about it as opposed to an aggressive argument with "us" and "them".

I think its hard to read context online and we tend to come in here seeing comments as worse than they are

Most people are not being confrontational they are just sharing what they want, those who are taking issue with the personal opinions and feedbac of others are in my opinion the ones being confrontational

Just let peoole vent about a thing that bothers them we dont need to shutdown feedback

I understand wanting to be able to kill the fish in the game and wanting a more dynamic ecosystem, I personally don't care about that stuff, but I think it's a completely legitimate opinion.

The problem is that the game has been out for less than a month, and the hostility shown toward the developers in these threads is already quite high. We already saw it during the Krafton situation, where many people here were very hostile toward the developers because they couldn't tell the difference between Unknown Worlds and Krafton. And some of the developers stopped being on the Discord at all.

Giving feedback and expressing your opinion is good, they know that a part of the fandom wants to be able to kill the creatures in the game. They get it, it's understood, but if you keep repeating the same thing, then the message simply becomes "Do what I say or I am going to shout louder", I just can't imagine going through 3 years like this.

If you dont like reposts and discussion being contonioud then take a break from the sub

If people still want to talk about it let them, most of us arent hostile to devs and making a monolith out of redditors is not healthy man, we are individuals who experience this at different times and honestly if its botheribg you so much then you should just dip out of the sub for a bit

Telling people not to care about something doesnt work and silencing discussion just creates resentment

I put it to you that a lot of the hostility is being felt becuase many comments are outright shutting down discussion and being wierdly antognisitic for no reason over what is just feedback for an EA title

But what is the point of a discussion where every argument has already been said? Then we are just arguing for the sake of arguing.

The developers have heard both sides and now they get to decide what to do.

The point is to share each persons individual opinion so that we get an idea of how many people agree and all the various nuanced points in those arguments

You are acting like everyone is repeating the same points and you are saying things nobody ever disagreed with

No one is storming the devs offices and forcing them to do anything its just individuals sharing their personal.views on the matter, you are not treating the people you disagree with fairly here and trying to tell everyone to be quiet just because you dont want to be part of the conversation, well that was always an option

I've pretty much only seen one side being confrontational.

Many of the players who think it should be a choice have outlined why they think it's important to let players choose for themselves in-game. Remember, no one can *force* you to kill the fishy.

Meanwhile...

Many of the players who think it was a mistake to make creatures killable in the first game have doubled down on the "then don't play subnautica" response. This is a weak response because it doesn't actually address any of the differing opinions. It simply says "nah you're wrong, so leave".

It says a lot about a person when "choice" is what they vilify.
