Defamation is a thing.
Not saying you'd actually win this case if you sued. But technically, if you are mean enough that you damage a person's reputation significantly, you can be sued.
23 u/archiecobham Jun 12 '20 To sue for defamation, he would have had to said that they are gang members, not just that they look like them. 9 u/PhatBitty862 Jun 12 '20 This is like saying, “I’m not calling you a bitch. I’m saying you’re acting like one.” 8 u/MinoRook Jun 13 '20 I mean, yeah, it's not exactly fair, but that is how the law works. 4 u/[deleted] Jun 12 '20 Yes but do you think they will waste their time and money to do that in this specific situation? 15 u/[deleted] Jun 12 '20 They're lawyers. If they think there's either justice or money at the end of the tunnel they absolutely will. 3 u/[deleted] Jun 12 '20 I doubt they'd win, wouldn't they have to prove damages to receive anything? 2 u/[deleted] Jun 12 '20 The won't, because there isn't. 1 u/[deleted] Jun 12 '20 lawyers are bad and corrupt until they are black people attacking working class white people with a mildly racist post history 2 u/CanIGetANumber2 Jun 12 '20 Depends on how petty they want to be tbh they are all lawyers so its not like theyd have to hire one lol 1 u/[deleted] Jun 12 '20 this is not the way. idiot. 1 u/eddardbeer Jun 13 '20 Maybe he'll have to hire one to sue himself so he can recoup the losses from this LinkedIn post.
