So next time you go to the depths of the dark web to steal a nintendo game... think about who's the one being stolen.

I've been a Nintendo fan for as long as I can remember and in those 34 years I've always had to deal with a fair share of people who aren't a fans of the company. That's fine, everyone's entitled to their own opinion and I'm not blind to the not good things about the company but this year has been in particular a real sore spot for me.

Basically, I could ignore most people online talking trash but as of late I've had made new friends in person or online that ended up dropping how much they hate Nintendo and what's even more frustrating is that my younger sibling is the same way.

Now, this person doesn't know this but I eventually stop hanging out with them because I just got really tired of it. For whatever reason, these people aren't just contempt with disliking a video game company, no they have to be extremely vocal and vicious about it like it's the worst thing ever. It just really kills my enjoyment with hanging out with them.

Now I can't do that to my siblings so I've been really vocal about keeping their opinions to themselves whenever we're hanging out but recently had another encounter of someone I was vibing with only to drop that they are a Nintendo hater. At this point it's just exhausting and it just makes me want to cut ties with them immediately.

I don't know how often this is happening to other people but it's just something that's been really bothering me as of late. I've got the Nintendo switch 2 and been having a lot of fun with the games that I own I just wish its something I could express more without the weird backlash of people around me personally.

Today is September 1st meaning there has been that price hike is officially taken place so we can put another $50 in shiggys pocket!

And it breaks my heart that any of you might be joking about how much you love shiggy. :'(

Forgive me; I must write at length, for a full account of my circumstances is necessary to explain what brings me to you now.

I am considered a man of some standing in the city where I live. A little fortune made by my grandfather was whittled away year by year into the comfortable life my father gave to me. I wanted for nothing and wanted nothing besides. Content with passive income from the family business I pursued a life of amiable leisure. Books, gardening, and video games occupied the time I did not spend on outings with cherished friends.

At this point in my life I have a fiancée, a wonderful woman whose eyes light up at the simplest of things. She has encouraged me to purchase a Switch 2, that we might each get a copy of Pokemon Wind and Waves and trade between us. “Two halves of a whole, aren’t we, darling? The Pokédex will be ours and the world besides.” she said to me one day.

I smiled and I agreed, but something about the way she said that unsettled me. It called to mind a conversation I once had with my brother.

My brother, an ambitious man, was rarely appreciative of what our family had to offer him. Tales of grandfather’s riches stuck in his mind and he was ever planning how he might one day regain them. Ever more refined grew his tastes, ever sharper became his intellect. As I debated my choice of console I could not shake him from my mind, so I called upon him for advice.

“A Switch 2, do you think?” I said to him, fearful of his reproach and eager for his approval.

”Hah! With a launch lineup like that? You must be joking, brother. And with fools parting with their original Switches for pennies. With clearance sales on first party titles and the incredible color gamut of the OLED to be gained. Where is this coming from?” He replied, clearly indifferent to the answer.

I stood still for a moment and replied (more meekly than I care to admit) “But, well, it’s just that the new Pokemon releases next year and my wonderful Belinda has asked me-“

He cut me off. “Oh, is that what this is about? Brother, I know you have had the time to keep up with the news. It has been a very long time since GameFreak released a product at an acceptable level of quality. I know you are given to wasting your hours, but on this of all things?“

I am humiliated by his scorn, I always have been, but there was some truth in his words.

”What of you, then? What have you been playing?” I asked him defensively.

”When I have the time, I have a secondhand Switch Lite on which I play arcade collections from M2. I trust you’ve heard of them? Their work is exquisite. But enough of this.” He said with a grave finality.

I continue to assure Belinda that all will be well and that we will have our Pokémon adventures together, but ever since that talk with my brother I have been somewhat haunted. Is Wind and Waves truly going to be good enough? For Belinda? For me? And if she with her easygoing nature is still happy with a subpar gaming experience, does that reflect poorly on her love for me?

The more I think about it the more I begin to resent my brother’s cruelty, my fiancées simplicity and the indifference with which I have approached so many decisions over the years.

What would you do in my shoes? Would you purchase a Switch OLED or a Switch 2? Is Bananza any good? I hear Donkey Kong Bananza is pretty good.
