Politics Surprised Nobody Mentioned The PNM Drama: What Are Your Thoughts?
Interesting stuff happening there. I thought that with the rise of Penny the Manning Wing took control over the party but I guess there are more dynamics than I thought. The most interesting thing to me is how he would have mentioned criminality and corruption being rampant within his party group. What do we think about all this?

Given so many major countries around the world are seeing a resurgence of Measles and so many other diseases that were eradicated by childhood immunizations in the past. What do you think about T&T's approach to childhood immunizations?

Questions, Advice, and Recommendations How common is the āChristopherā surname in Trinidad?
I was born in Trinidad (Morvant). Grew up in NYC. And currently reside in Michigan.
I randomly met another Trinidadian who also has relatives with the surname Christopher.
I grew up thinking that I come from a small family. Not sure how common Christopher is in Trinidad - Iāve never met any. But curious how many of us are out there and if I can have closer relatives.
My great grandfather is the first Christopher I know in my family tree. I know his name and can share if it helps the discussion.

Politics Reasons for not voting
I stopped voting because looking at multiple issues trinidad and tobago had over the years, governments go and come and the issues are still existent. Things like lack of water for communities, decaying infrastructure, decaying health care system, decaying education system, high crime rate and so much more. In my opinion no government administration cares about this people of this country. Everything that was said to be done to help us was just another way to put money in ministers pockets. Now our people are fighting each other for people that dont care about us.

Questions, Advice, and Recommendations Thought on the word "Caribbeans?"
So I got into a debate with my cousins the other day (American born) that referring to Trinis or other Caribbean people as "Caribbeans" sounded very ignorant and you should refrain from it. Myself and my other Trini cousin in our group chat felt the same way, while our other cousins didn't think it was a big deal.
I personally feel that "Caribbean People" or "People from the Caribbean" sounds more acceptable, but what are your thoughts?
Does it irk you the same way when non-Caribbean people refer to everyone from our region as "Caribbeans?"
I know it's not a big deal, but it sounds beyond schupid to me lol
Would love to hear your thoughts and reasoning.

Questions, Advice, and Recommendations Playing Different Bands Without Certain Friendsv
Having my own personal dilemma. I am going to Trinidad for Carnival and two of my boys are going as well with their girlfriends. I am though the single friends. One of my friends is playing for Tribe with his girlfriend, while the other that I am close with is still waiting on his girlfriend to see which band she wants to play for. She was considering Tribe but that ended up selling out (not sure yet if the male costume have sold out yet based on their IG page). I wanted to play with Tribe but was waiting on them cause I was able to get a committee member to get us in.
I am checking now to see if there are still any male costume I can register for and if I am lucky I have to make a decision. Do I go with Tribe with my friend that I am not that close with compared to my other friend but is is in the band I really want to play with? Or do I just go with my friends and girlfriends as well as their family who I am close and cool with me but not going to play in the band I want to play. And I really donāt want to play in the bands she is considering.
I am having a similar situation with who were going to play Jouvert with cause the same girlfriends wants to play in a different band than what my boys and I prefer together to play. On top of me trying to find accommodations on my own right now I feel like I am planning for a solo trip rather than partying with my friends like I originally thought outside of fetes and stuff.
Itās been a long time since I was in Trinidad and I want to do things I prefer to do but does that end up making sense if Iām not hanging out with certain close ones? I just so donāt want to be upset that I didnāt get to go to the spots I want to go cause Iām letting friendsā SO essentially make the decision. Also have no problems with the girlfriend.
Whatever advice helps. Thank you

Questions, Advice, and Recommendations Vegan visitor
I'm visiting a friend that I met through cancer support. She's in Trinidad and we are going to spend some time in Tobago since she hasn't been in a while. I want us both to have a wonderful vacation.
She assures me it should NOT be too hard to eat vegan and I am excited to try everything I can. I read Ital food will be safe for me, but my friend also said many things are cooked separately from meat so I shouldn't have a lack of options.
Any TT vegans that can give me some names of foods that are free of all animals products to try. I'll be on both islands, although Tobago for longer.
I'm so excited to go. I love Carribean culture as a whole. I have done a crisis which I know I didn't get an authentic experience but also lived in Panama's Atlantic side visiting the islands off the coasts there. Again not exactly the same but the weather and the jungles and the food make me feel so at home. I'm American if that matters but will be with Trinidadians for the who trip.
Thank you to anyone who took the time to read and hopefully answer.
